Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has melted her fans' hearts with the 'sweetest thing they've seen' as she prepares to welcome baby number two. The actress announced that she is pregnant with her second child with boyfriend Ryan Ledson over the summer.
Sharing a video to announce the news on Instagram, the couple were seen playing with their one-year-old son, Sonny Jude, at their home before the clip then switches to Lucy rubbing her blossoming baby bump.
One-year-old Sonny was then seen playing with the sonography images of his new sibling before Lucy also shared a close up of the new baby's scan image, as well as holding up her positive pregnancy test.
Announcing the surprise news, the soap star, who is famed for playing Bethany Platt in ITV's Corrie, captioned the video: "Half way there," confirming where she was already in her pregnancy.
As she prepares to become a mum-of-two, Lucy is busy on the cobbles with Bethany's life-changing botched cosmetic surgery storyline. But in a video shared to TikTok, the Blackpool-born star revealed how she is welcomed home by her delighted son.
In the clip, the youngster could be seen looking out the window next to the front door as Lucy pulls up in her car. As she gets out and makes her way to the door, Sonny pulses his legs up and down in excitement before his mum smiles widely back at him through the window.
As soon as she lets herself in, she's embraced by Sonny before Lucy picks him up for a cuddle. Captioning the post on TikTok, Lucy wrote: "My best friend," and the comments quickly came flooding in.
One follower said: "Awwww that's the cutest thing ever he so sweet bless him." Another commented: "The sweetest thing I have ever seen, so adorable." A third shared: "This is the most magicalist things I’ve seen all day." A fan also gushed: "Awww look how happy he is to see you."
Welcoming a New Addition
The couple, who announced the pregnancy back in June, have now shared the gender of their upcoming bundle of joy. Lucy and Ryan took to Instagram to reveal the happy news in a heartwarming video.
The couple were seen staring at their phone in awe with Oasis’ Songbird playing in the background. The end of the video then showed a pink baby grow which read 'little sister'.
Fans were quick to congratulate the couple on the happy news, with many commenting on how adorable the video was.
Growing Family
Lucy and Ryan met through friends back in 2017. The soap star recently revealed she wants to have two more children, but it seems Ryan is going to need some convincing.
Talking about the future on ITV's Drama Queens in April, the midfielder said: 'Maybe one more' as Lucy protested: 'Two more'.
Ryan argued back: 'One more for me, like'.
Lucy then had the final word as she added: 'Two more. I have the uterus.'
The actress also opened up about her frustrations that Ryan is yet to pop the question.
Lucy shared: 'I think everyone thinks that being with a footballer, is going to come with loads of glamorous things - but Ryan is really, really normal. He's a normal lad from Liverpool.
'I am not engaged. It's actually become a bit of a running joke now, but I think the more that I go on about it, the longer it's going to be.
'Maybe I need to stop talking about it and then it'll happen... maybe.'
Baby Bump Outing
The actress, who plays Bethany Platt in the ITV soap opera, was spotted running errands in Manchester on Wednesday, covering her growing baby bump with a purple tracksuit. She sported a lilac ROTATE Sunday sweatshirt with matching tracksuit bottoms and comfy tan Ugg boots.
The soap star and Ryan, 26, who plays as a midfielder for Preston North End, welcomed their first child, Sonny Jude, in January 2023.
Lucy's exciting announcement comes just weeks after the actress took to social media to reveal that her firstborn son Sonny Jude is going to be a big brother.
The new addition will no doubt bring even more joy to the growing family. Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new baby girl, who will be joining her big brother, Sonny Jude, and parents Lucy and Ryan.
