A FLOOD warning has been issued for the river Avon in Worcestershire.
Heavy rainfall forecast for tonight (Thursday, September 26) has led to the UK government issuing a flood warning for the river Avon at Wyre Piddle, near Pershore.
The flood warning states that properties and roads in Wyre Piddle could be affected alongside Wyre Piddle caravan park.
Eckington Road, which lies south of the village, could be impassable as a result, according to the UK government's guidance.
The flooding warning comes after the Met Office had issued an amber weather warning for Worcestershire from 6pm tonight (September 26) until 6am on Friday (September 27).
Evesham Flood Alert: High Water Levels Pose Risk to Roads and Farmland
There is still a risk of flooding in Evesham as water levels remain high in the River Avon.
An update to a flood alert for the River Avon said river levels remain high at the Evesham river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
The statement put on the Gov.uk website said because of this, the risk of roads and farmland flooding remains.
It is expected flooding will affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.
Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road.
Mill Bank Road from Jubilee Bridge to Fladbury has already been impacted.
There is a predicted river peak of 2.4m in Evesham today.
Drivers are being advised to plan their routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
No further significant rainfall is forecast in the next 24 hours and the situation is being closely monitored.

A government spokesperson said: We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
The next flooding update is expected at 9am.
