At this point, it's verging on comical more than worrisome that a Ghost of Tsushima sequel has yet to be announced. After all, it makes more sense to assume a Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in development than to assume the opposite is true, as the massive success of the first game and the numerous rumors and leaks surrounding the development of a sequel all but confirm its existence. Ghost of Tsushima surprised the gaming community with its breathtaking visuals, engaging combat, and satisfying stealth mechanics, and its arrival during the initial COVID-19 outbreak only helped it soar to success. As such, Sucker Punch would be leaving money on the table not to move forward with a sequel.

Despite the extreme likelihood that a Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in development, it still can't afford to continue keeping its fans in limbo. Even Borderlands knew when to admit that the jig was up and recently decided to announce Borderlands 4, much to the excitement of fans. In the same way, it's high time Ghost of Tsushima's sequel confirms what everyone is already assuming anyway, especially in light of the first game's inclusion in the upcoming anthology series Secret Level.

Ghost of Tsushima's sequel could take notes from God of War: Ragnarok's direction regarding its characters for a great use in the followup.

It has now been a little over four years since the release of Ghost of Tsushima, meaning a sequel reveal has been a long time coming. That wait has felt even longer with the various rumors and leaks that have surfaced concerning a potential sequel, and it all began with a job posting that was discovered just a few months after Ghost of Tsushima’s initial launch. Since then, other rumors and reported leaks have circulated, suggesting a Ghost of Tsushima sequel could be revealed at any moment.

Unfortunately, even after four years' worth of seemingly credible sources leaking an impending Ghost of Tsushima sequel reveal, nothing has come of it. There have even been several opportunities in the last couple of years for a Ghost of Tsushima 2 reveal, including various PlayStation showcases. However, Sucker Punch never jumped on those opportunities for some reason only the developer knows, assuming the sequel is indeed in development. There is one other variable to consider, which comes back to an announcement Sony made earlier this year that it would not be releasing any major existing franchises before April 2025. That doesn't mean a reveal is out of the question though.

Around a month ago, Amazon Prime Video released a teaser trailer for Tim Miller's Secret Level, an animated anthology series set in the world of a variety of different video games. While Ghost of Tsushima isn't included in the list of games shown at the end of the trailer, there is a split-second image of Jin Sakai that is very easy to miss. In light of that, Ghost of Tsushima may receive an episode in the series, or at least a cameo. If that turns out to be true, there is no reason Ghost of Tsushima 2 should pass up what could be yet another opportunity for a big reveal.

With Secret Level premiering on December 10 and Sony's announcement that it would not be releasing any major existing franchise before April 2025, December would be the perfect time for a Ghost of Tsushima 2 announcement, followed by an April 2025 release. It's high time Ghost of Tsushima 2 takes advantage of one of these valuable opportunities and reveals itself for once. The fans have now waited long enough for a confirmation of some kind, so Ghost of Tsushima 2 can't afford to beat around the bush much longer.
