Labour Day Weekend 2024: Town of Lincoln and MD of Greenview Facility Closures and Hours

The Labour Day weekend is upon us, and with it comes a chance to relax and enjoy the long weekend. However, it's important to be aware of any altered hours or closures for local facilities and services. Both the Town of Lincoln and the MD of Greenview have announced changes to their operations during the Labour Day weekend.

Town of Lincoln Labour Day Weekend Closures and Hours

The Town of Lincoln wishes the community a safe and happy Labour Day weekend. Some Town facilities and services will have altered hours for the Labour Day weekend and the observed Statutory Holiday on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre

The Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre will be closed on Monday, September 2nd. However, there are several ways to enjoy the museum even while it's closed.

• Summer Exhibits & Building Tours: Explore the exhibits and tour the historic buildings. Take a tour of the Fry Family home (c. 1815) and the Schoolhouse (c. 1859) led by a costumed interpreter!

• Back-to-School Creation Station: Get ready for back to school and make a desk pet!

Lincoln Pelham Public Library

The Lincoln Pelham Public Library will also be closed on Monday, September 2nd. While the library is closed, check out these free online resources:

Allan F. Gretsinger Pool and Jordan Lions Pool

The Allan F. Gretsinger Pool and Jordan Lions Pool will be closed for the season on Labour Day, September 2nd at 5 p.m. Thanks for a great summer!

Fireworks

Residents are reminded that fireworks are prohibited in the Town of Lincoln. The only exceptions are on Victoria Day and Canada Day. Fireworks are permitted two days before and seven days following these holidays. Visit the Town of Lincoln website to learn more.

MD of Greenview Labour Day Weekend Closures and Hours

Please be advised of the following Greenview Public Service Buildings, Administration Offices, Landfills and Transfer Stations closures on Monday, September 2, 2024, for Labour Day. Please also note the following Recreation Facility & Tourism Centre hours on Monday, September 2, 2024.

The following administration and public service buildings will be closed on Monday, September 2nd:

The following agricultural services buildings will be closed on Monday, September 2nd:

Transfer Stations and Landfills

All transfer stations and landfills will be closed on Monday, September 2nd.

  • Sat. Aug. 31: Grande Cache Landfill closed (regular hours resume on Tuesday, Sept. 3)
  • Sat. Aug. 31 & Sun. Sept. 1: Transfer Sites open regular hours
  • Mon. Sept. 2: Sturgeon Heights & Little Smoky Transfer Stations closed
  • Mon. Sept. 2: Greenview Regional Landfill closed

• Grande Cache commercial & residential pickup:

  • Mon. Sept. 2: No commercial pick-up (moved to Tues. Sept. 3)
