The countdown is on for the most wonderful evening of the year, as Patrick Kielty gets set to present his second toy show since taking over as host of the long-standing show.

The iconic show will be taken over by children for the night, with kids across the country appearing to demo their favourite toys and showcase their amazing talents.

Last year, we met the mullet-sporting Sheamie Garrihy from Kilfenora, who had audience and viewers at home in stitches with his quick wit and ice-breaker joke to Patrick.

Asking the presenter what the two of them had in common, Sheamie responded: ‘It’s both our first toy show, Patrick.’

Kilkenny rugby fanatic Stevie Mulrooney gave a rendition of Ireland’s Call and was left almost-speechless when he was surprised by Irish rugby legends Peter O’Mahony and Bundi Aki.

Stevie’s Toy Show appearance led the youngster to get the chance to belt out the Irish anthem ahead of Ireland’s clash with Italy in February.

That said, the big kids across the country are now being invited to try register their interest and enter the Toy Show ticket lottery.

As part of the application, applicants will be asked to share their favourite Christmas song. The golden tickets are non-transferable and applicants must be available on Friday, December 6.

How To Apply For Late Late Toy Show Tickets

To apply for tickets, you will need to fill out a questionnaire on the RTE website. The questionnaire will ask you for some basic information, such as your name, age, and phone number. You will also be asked to share your favourite Christmas song and why you want to attend the Toy Show.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you will be entered into the ticket lottery. Tickets will be allocated by random selection, so all applicants have an equal chance of being selected.

The winners will be contacted the week before the Toy Show. Applicants are reminded that these “golden tickets” are non-transferable and those presenting transferred tickets will be refused admission.

Patrick Kielty’s Message To Fans

Host Patrick Kielty noted he had been continuously asked by family, friends and strangers alike if he had any tickets for the upcoming Toy Show.

“Sadly, I don’t BUT here’s how you could be joining me for the biggest night of the year on December 6th,” he revealed.

“Remember, Toy Show dreams do come true but you gotta be in it to win it. So be quick. And be lucky!”

Ticket Lottery Application Details

The ticket lottery is open now and closes on a date to be announced. Applicants must be 18 years or older. There is a limit of two tickets per application. The show takes place on Friday, December 6, and those who are successful will be contacted the week before the show.
