Liverpool take on Bournemouth hoping to build some momentum in the Premier League following a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest in their previous league game.
During the week Arne Slot took charge of this first European match as Liverpool manager and defeated AC Milan at the San Siro in a confidence-building comeback victory. The Reds will now be hoping to take that form into today’s encounter with the Cherries and move themselves up the Premier League table.
For their part, Bournemouth have been playing well. Five points from their opening four games puts them 11th in the table, just behind Manchester United. Although they lost 1-0 to Chelsea in their last match they performed strongly and Andoni Iraola will be hoping for something similar at Anfield.

16:32
TWO BLOCKS ON THE LINE! Mac Allister and Jones combine to split the Bournemouth midfield, before the Argentina international plays an incisive pass out to the right for Salah. The winger has a shot that’s blocked from close range by Kepa before taking a deflection off Huijsen on the line, and Nunez’s follow-up attempt is also denied by the chest of the Bournemouth centre-back!
16:32
Substitution Luis Fernando DĂaz Marulanda Cody Mathès Gakpo
16:31
Substitution Darwin Gabriel Núñez Ribeiro Federico Chiesa
16:29
Booked just 30 seconds into the game, Christie makes way with 21 minutes to go, as Scott is introduced in his place.
16:29
Substitution Antoine Serlom Semenyo Luis Fernando Sinisterra LucumĂ
16:29
Substitution Julián Vicente Araujo Zúñiga Adam James Smith
16:29
A well-timed Mac Allister tackle in midfield allows Diaz to drive with the ball towards the penalty area, with the winger looking to shift it over to Nunez, who plays a first-time pass out to the right for Salah. With nobody looking willing to hit the shot, Kerkez slides in and manages to win back possession inside his 18-yard box, allowing Kepa to clear it away.
16:28
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 140 Premier League matches when leading at half-time (127 wins) dating back to a 4-3 loss to Bournemoth on December 4, 2016.
16:25
Cook’s inswinging corner is left at the near post by Kerkez, with Van Dijk able to sort his feet out and clear it away to foil another Bournemouth set-piece.
16:23
Salah is a bit too unselfish at the key moment, reading the bounce of Gravenberch’s pass perfectly to get to the ball ahead of Kerkez, before playing it across the face of goal for the marked Nunez. Zabarnyi manages to step across and clear it away at the last possible second, with the Egypt international perhaps thinking he could have hit it himself.
16:21
Substitution Dominik Szoboszlai Curtis Julian Jones
16:21
Mac Allister somehow manages to chip an inch-perfect pass into the penalty area for Salah, who brings it down with class before having his close-range shot denied by Kepa. The Egypt international manages to regather possession and dance around the goalkeeper before passing his effort into an empty net, but Kerkez manages to take up a good position on the line to deny Liverpool a fourth.
16:20
Yellow Card Ibrahima Konaté
16:18
Ouattara manages to win just enough space ahead of Alexander-Arnold to dig out a cross near the byline, but Kelleher takes a step to his near post before making a routine catch.
16:16
Gravenberch hits a speculative strike from 30 yards out, looking to test the goalkeeper, but Kepa is equal to it, palming the ball down with two hands to take the sting out before making the grab at the second attempt.
16:15
Semenyo manages to cut inside from the right 18 yards from goal, somehow dribbling past Diaz, Nunez and Mac Allister before hitting a low, left-footed shot that provides an easy save for Kelleher.
16:13
Bournemouth have lost nine of their 10 away games against Liverpool in all competitions, with the exception being a 2-2 draw in the Premier League in April 2017.
16:12
Araujo’s low cross to the near post is left by Evanilson for Tavanier, who is unable to redirect the ball towards goal. It eventually skips out to Semenyo 20 yards from goal, but his skipping, half-volley is driven off the back of Gravenberch and behind for a corner.
16:09
A collision inside the penalty area leaves both Nunez and Kepa on the ground, with the two players looking to win the race to a loose ball. The goalkeeper manages to get there first before taking a bit of an uncoordinated barge of the shoulder - giving Bournemouth a free-kick.
16:08
Alexander-Arnold chooses to pass a free-kick to the right for Salah instead of relying on his trademark delivery, which puts Gravenberch in a position to deliver a cross from a different angle. The Netherlands international manages to pick Nunez out at the far post but it’s a poor pass across the face of goal for Mac Allister, with Zabarnyi able to clear it away.
16:05
Liverpool get the match restarted from the kick-off!
16:05
Substitution Justin Dean Kluivert Dango Aboubacar Faissal Ouattara
15:56
Iraiola will first and foremost need to make sure this does not get any worse for his side, down three goals and with three players already on a booking. Senesi could provide a bit of experience at the back in place of the carded Huijsen, while the creativity and skill of Brooks and Scott could be useful in helping Evanilson grow into the game. Slot will be looking for a routine second-half performance, but he could also take the opportunity to give some of his less frequently used players a chance; including Quansah at the back and Chiesa on the wing.
15:53
Liverpool ran absolutely rampant in the first half, heeding the early warning signs after Bournemouth’s disallowed goal four minutes in, before finding the back of the net three times within an 11-minute spell to take a seemingly unassailable 3-0 lead into the half-time interval. Semenyo looked to get the Cherries off on the right foot, but a tight offside decision would leave the match level and spoil Iraiola’s early smile. Slot’s team hit back almost immediately, with Salah and Diaz forcing Kepa into a pair of fantastic saves to keep the score level, before the aforementioned Diaz found his rhythm- scoring a pair of lovely goals in 120 seconds to completely change the game. Nunez would add a third less than 10 minutes from the interval - leaving Iraiola’s side somewhat stunned. Despite an xG of just 1.01, Liverpool hit the back of the net three times, while Bournemouth are still searching for their first - with an output of 0.7 xG.
15:51
HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 3-0 BOURNEMOUTH.
15:51
Huijsen drags Salah to the ground just outside the penalty area on the right wing following a poor clearance, with the centre-back shown a yellow card.
15:51
Mac Allister looks to scoop a pass forward for Nunez from inside the centre-circle, but he’s taken down by a frustrated Evanilson - who manages to escape without a booking.
15:51
The fourth official indicates three minutes will be added to the half for stoppages.
15:46
Liverpool have scored five first-half goals in five games, only Manchester City (eight) have scored more in the Premier League this season.
15:43
Mac Allister plays a give-and-go with Gravenberch 20 yards from goal, looking to work enough space for a shot, but the Argentina international is eventually dispossessed by a desperate Semenyo.
15:41
Liverpool again come forward looking for more, with Gravenberch getting the better of Huijsen in midfield, but Salah’s hurried shot from close range is sent into the grateful arms of Kepa.
15:39
Assist Mohamed Salah Hamed Mahrous Ghaly
15:38
Goal Darwin Gabriel Núñez Ribeiro
15:38
Bournemouth continue to try and play out from the back, inviting the press from both Salah and Szoboszlai. It’s a risky strategy, with Slot’s side keen to close down the space and win the ball back high up the pitch, though it could help in breaking down the organised Liverpool midfield.
15:36
Cook’s free-kick from the right wing causes a bit of panic in the six-yard box, with Nunez’s unconvincing flick carrying the ball to the back post for Kerkez. The Liverpool defence eventually manage to whack it clear but play is pulled back anyways for a Semenyo foul on Van Dijk.
15:34
Semenyo isn’t able to hit the net either, with his off-balance effort from just outside the 18-yard box dragged well wide of the far post.
15:34
Evanilson has a speculative shot from 24 yards out, looking to find the top corner, but the striker’s aim lets him down as the effort sails high and wide of the target.
15:30
Assist Trent John Alexander-Arnold
15:29
Assist Ibrahima Konaté
15:28
The referee takes his time ahead of a Liverpool free-kick in midfield, with Tony Harrington walking over to the touchline to show Iraiola a yellow card for dissent following the awarding of a set-piece to the hosts.
15:27
Goal Luis Fernando DĂaz Marulanda
15:25
Bournemouth are gifted a corner-kick after Konate’s poor pass back fails to give Kelleher a chance to keep it in play, but the visitors fail to make the most of their opportunity, with Cook’s delivery easily beaten away by the head of Van Dijk.
15:25
Diaz is proving a handful for the Bournemouth defence, with the tricky winger able to skip past both Araujo and Semenyo down the flank, before cutting inside ahead of Zabarnyi and hitting a low strike that is once again parried by Kepa.
15:22
Kelleher takes a bit too long clearing his lines from inside his penalty area, allowing Evanilson to close him down. The striker manages to get a touch to the ball to deflect the kick before keeping it play and slipping it to Semenyo - who is denied by a quick reaction from the Liverpool goalkeeper.
15:20
Looking to halt Gravenberch’s progress in midfield, Kluivert is a little too aggressive as he drags his man down to the ground. It’s a yellow for the Bournemouth forward - the second booking of the game for the visitors.
15:19
Always a threat from set-pieces, Alexander-Arnold swings a free-kick towards the penalty spot from a deep position on the right wing, but Zabarnyi gets the better of Van Dijk in the air and clears his lines at the first time of asking.
15:18
Salah sweeps a first-time pass into the 18-yard box for Nunez, who settles the ball ahead of Zabarnyi and manages to turn, before firing a tame shot that’s easily collected by Kepa.
15:15
ANOTHER GREAT SAVE! Szoboszlai plays a sensational pass on the half-volley for Salah, splitting Huijsen and Zabarnyi in the process, but Salah isn’t able to beat Kepa from close range, with the goalkeeper once again frustrating a Liverpool forward.
15:13
Kerkez launches a pass down the pitch looking for the run of Evanilson, but Van Dijk marks his man to perfection and nods the danger away coolly.
15:10
Alexander-Arnold looks to catch the goalkeeper napping at his near post during a Liverpool corner-kick attempt, but Kepa and Araujo do just enough to repel the delivery.
15:10
FANTASTIC SAVE! Looking to drag his side up the pitch, Diaz latches onto Mac Allister’s pass down the left flank and cuts inside ahead of Araujo before firing a powerful effort that Kepa somehow manages to get fingertips to!
15:09
GOAL DISALLOWED! IT REMAINS 0-0! The referee engages in a lengthy VAR check following the early goal, but it won’t stand as the video assistant confirms Semenyo was in an offside position during his redirected attempt! Liverpool can breathe a sigh of relief!
15:09
SEMENYO PUTS THE BALL IN THE NET! 1-0 BOURNEMOUTH! Kluivert dribbles the ball into the penalty area before dragging a low shot looking to beat Kelleher at the far corner. The effort looks to be off-target but Semenyo slides in and manages to redirect the ball into the net!
15:05
Assist Justin Dean Kluivert
15:02
30 seconds into the game and we already have our first yellow card, with Christie shown a booking for catching Diaz with a high, raised boot.
15:02

14:43
Bournemouth make three changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Chelsea seven days ago. Kepa gets the nod in goal ahead of Travers, while Huijsen and Araujo are drafted into defence, replacing Smith and Senesi respectively.
14:43
Liverpool make two alterations to the XI that lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest last time out. Kelleher gives Alisson a break between the posts while in attack, Nunez is preferred to Jota.

14:43
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let’s take a look at how the two sides are lining up - starting with our hosts!
14:30
Bournemouth’s incredible come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Everton on August 31 remains their only win of the season, as the Cherries failed to capitalise on their momentum, losing 1-0 to Chelsea last time out. Currently 11th with five points, Andoni Iraiola’s team could finish the day as high as seventh - though they’ll need all three points against a Liverpool side they failed to beat in three attempts last season.
14:30
Arne Slot’s first Premier League defeat came last weekend as Liverpool lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest - ending a run of three-consecutive clean sheet victories. Despite the disappointing result, the Reds got back to winning ways on Tuesday with a 3-1 hammering of Milan in the new-look Champions League, coming back from 1-0 down after 120 seconds to start their European campaign off on the right foot.
