A McDonald's employee has taken to TikTok to share a common drive-thru customer behaviour that some of her colleagues find really annoying - and it's all to do with a greeting.

A McDonald's employee has disclosed a common behavior by some drive-thru customers that could result in them being overlooked. The seemingly ordinary action was criticized as "rude" by a McDonald's worker on TikTok.

The user, known as @maccaworkaddict, posted a video of herself dancing with the text overlay: "You can't keep ignoring the car in the drive-thru because they screamed hello as soon as they get there." This annoyance at people merely greeting is due to the alert sound staff receive when a car arrives at the intercom.

While some TikTok users agreed with her, others criticized her. She clarified that her videos are "all a joke" and not meant to be taken seriously. She also mentioned that if you've arrived and no one has addressed you, it's acceptable to try to catch an employee's attention. "How about just saying, 'One second, I'll be right with you'. I say hello because I don't know if they know I'm there," [One user commented under the video, reports the Irish Mirror.](https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/world-news/mcdonalds-employee-ignores-customers-greeting-33694364)

Another drive-thru worker chimed in: "Each time they say hello I make them wait another 10 seconds lol."

Another shared: "I hated this working at Burger King especially when this customer be out there sitting there yelling soon as I put the headset on."

One added: "I relate wholeheartedly. I do this, or immediately reply, 'Yes, How Can I Help You? ! ' making it known I'm irritated."

A Former McDonald's Chef Reveals the Secret to Making Big Mac Sauce

A former McDonald's chef has spilled the beans on how to recreate the iconic Big Mac sauce at home. Mike Haracz, who served as a corporate chef for the fast-food giant until 2019, has been dishing out insider tips on his TikTok channel, including the secret recipe for the famous Big Mac sauce.

In one of his most popular videos, he announces: "Chef Mike here, former corporate chef for McDonald's, and I am going to give you my recipe on how to make Big Mac sauce at home."

To kick things off, Chef Mike pours one cup of mayonnaise into a bowl, followed by a 1/4 cup of sweet pickle relish, two tablespoons of Dusseldorf mustard, and one teaspoon of white wine vinegar.

Next, he adds one and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, one teaspoon of onion powder, one teaspoon of granulated garlic, and 1/8 teaspoon of white pepper. He explained: "All you've got to do is mix it all together. As you can see, there's no ketchup in this recipe. The color you get from Big Mac sauce is just from paprika. You're going to let this sit for half an hour before trying. This is as close as you are going to get."

Drive-Thru Etiquette: When Saying Hello Is a Big No-No

It could seem harmless but when they have to deal with hundreds of customers a day, those little annoyances can become full-blown problems and some unfortunate person might not get their food. It's important to remember that fast-food workers are often under immense pressure and dealing with a constant stream of customers. While a simple "hello" might seem innocuous, it can be perceived as an interruption or a demand for immediate attention, especially when the staff member is already busy with other tasks. It's best to be patient and wait for the worker to acknowledge you before speaking. This can help to create a more positive and efficient experience for everyone involved.
