The Royal Foundation's 2023 annual report has just been published and it gives a new insight into Meghan Markle's impact on the Firm. The 44-page report reveals that the Duchess of Sussex's charity cookbook, launched in 2018 to support Grenfell fire victims, generated sales of £84,540 last year.
The financial success of her cookbook, "Together: Our Community Cookbook", surpassed what The Royal Foundation gathered for Mental Health and Emergency Responders initiatives, also funding more grants than the Early Years and Emergency Responders programs.
However, Prince William's Earthshot prize raked in just shy of £1.3 million, and his homelessness initiative garnered just under £1.6 million, though £1.5 million was spent on related expenses.
Meghan, who became part of the Royal family through marriage in May 2018, has not been associated with The Royal Foundation as a patron since 2019, nor as a senior working Royal since early 2020.
Royal Suitor highlighted these details on their X page, prompting Sussex supporters to comment on Meghan's lasting effect on the Foundation.
One user praised Meghan's initiative, "Amazing that Meghan's first solo project continues to have such an impact. Love that she restricted the profits from the sale of the cookbook. Five years on and they still have to write about its success."
Another supporter was full of admiration for her influence, "The duchess of impact. The Meghan Markle effect never fails", while someone else succinctly admired, "Beyond impressive! ".
At the Kensington Palace launch of 'Together' in September 2018, Meghan expressed her affection for the project, "Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love."
