Streaming giant Netflix is having a good old clear out ahead of Halloween, dispensing with a huge string of TV shows and films - including an award-winning Timothée Chalamet romance.

Netflix is set to axe a string of legendary shows and award-winning films next month - so if you want to see any of the following, you'd better be quick!

The streaming giant is sharpening its axe ahead of Halloween, with favourites such as the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy and Call Me By Your Name just some of the popular hits leaving the platform in October.

The Beverly Hills Cop franchise features Eddie Murphy as the charismatic and street-smart Detroit cop Axel Foley, who brings his unorthodox style to the upscale world of Beverly Hills. Combining action and comedy, the films explore themes of friendship, loyalty, and justice against a backdrop of glamorous settings and colourful characters. Known for its razor-sharp humour, memorable one-liners, and iconic theme music, the four-movie franchise has left a lasting impact on 80s and 90s pop culture, becoming a beloved classic over the years.

The Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy

Beverly Hills Cop (1984)

Detroit cop Axel Foley heads to Beverly Hills to investigate the murder of his best friend, Mikey. Navigating the glamorous but unfamiliar terrain, Axel's unorthodox methods clash with the local police, particularly with the straight-laced Detective Taggart and Sergeant Rosewood. As he uncovers a drug smuggling operation linked to Mikey’s death, Axel must rely on his street smarts and charisma to bring the criminals to justice. The film has a good 7.4 rating on IMDb.

Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)

Axel returns to the Hills after a series of high-profile robberies. When his friend Captain Taggart is shot while investigating, Axel teams up with his buddies again to uncover the mastermind behind the robberies. The film blends action and comedy as Axel's antics lead to high-stakes showdowns and outrageous situations. The film has a respectable 6.6 on IMDb.

Beverly Hills Cop III (1994)

Now working at a theme park called WonderWorld, Axel Foley finds himself involved in a murder case when a colleague is killed. To solve the crime, he infiltrates the park and discovers a plot involving counterfeit money and a criminal mastermind, all while navigating the park's eccentric attractions. With his signature blend of humour and resourcefulness, Axel races against time in an attempt to thwart the villains and restore peace to Beverly Hills once again. Known to be the weakest in the franchise, Beverly Hills Cop III has a lowly 5.5 on IMDb.

Call Me By Your Name

Also leaving Netflix next month is the hugely-acclaimed romance Call Me By Your Name (2017). Set in the summer of 1983, the movie sees 17-year-old Elio Perlman ( Timothée Chalamet ) enjoying life with his family at their 17th-century villa in Lombardy, Italy. But his world shifts when he meets Oliver ( Armie Hammer), a charming doctoral student interning for Elio's father. It isn't long before Elio and Oliver embark on a journey of awakening desire, leading to a transformative summer that will change their lives forever. The movie has a decent 7.8 rating on IMDb.
