Kildare County Council has signed a contract with Cunningham Contracts Group for the construction of 65 new social housing units and associated siteworks at Old Greenfields/Fitzgerald Close, Maynooth. Scheduled for completion in Q4 of 2025, this new development comprises of the construction of 26 houses, 28 apartments and 11 duplex apartment units, including all civil, site development & landscaping works.
Construction of Social Housing Units
Cunningham Contracts Group and their design team have been successfully appointed to deliver this design and build scheme on site. Van Dijk architects, along with Hayes Higgins Partnership and McGahon Surveyors will act as the Technical Advisory Design Team to Kildare County Council whilst on site.

Sustainability and Accessibility
As Maynooth is Kildare County Council's pilot decarbonising zone, all dwellings will be built to an A BER rating. This commitment to sustainability will reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The development will also prioritize accessibility. 13 of the dwellings of the will adhere to Universal Design standards and will be age-friendly, enabling older adults to continue living independently.
