Olivia Rodrigo has spent the majority of 2024 on the road with her GUTS World Tour, but she's planning to take a little break after it's all over.
Speaking to Billboard after her most recent tour stop in the Philippines, which also happened to be her biggest concert to date, Olivia Rodrigo announced she will be taking some much-deserved time off after wrapping up the tour. “I’m definitely going to take a little vacation after this tour,” Rodrigo told Billboard. “I’m trying not to put too much pressure on anything right now.”
Rodrigo further opened up about her experience on the road, admitting it's been “overwhelming” but “in the best way.” She added: “Everyone’s energy is really inspiring and makes me want to bring my all every night. That being said, sometimes it can get very overstimulating. I’ve learned so much about how to take care of myself by being on the road. You have to prioritize rest and sleep and alone time, otherwise you start to go a little crazy.”
Rodrigo's GUTS World Tour Experience
Rodrigo's GUTS World Tour was her first-ever arena tour. “The GUTS World Tour was my first-ever arena tour and I learned so much, not only about performing and taking care of myself, but about being a part of a team,” Rodrigo continued. “It was so much fun to have a little traveling tour family for so many months and I’m going to miss everyone dearly. The only thing I can think to do differently next time is to not overpack. My luggage is bursting at the seams!”
Olivia Rodrigo's Fund 4 Good
Rodrigo recently made headlines after announcing that all of the ticket sales from her show in the Philippines on October 5, 2024, would be donated to Jhpiego as part of her Fund 4 Good project. The star is already onto the next venue and on Australian soil, where she'll put on her last eight concerts of 2024 as part of her GUTS World Tour.
Rodrigo's Support for WESNET
While in Australia, a portion of the proceeds from Rodrigo's concerts will support WESNET (Women's Services Network). “Wesnet provides support and specialist services to women and children experiencing domestic violence and envisions a future where all women and children live free of domestic and family violence and its consequences,” the singer wrote on her Instagram when announcing the partnership.
GUTS World Tour Special on Netflix
Though the Australian leg of the tour will mark the end of GUTS for 2024 and the beginning of Rodrigo's vacation, it's not the last we'll hear of the tour. Recently, the singer announced a GUTS World Tour special will be premiering on Netflix on October 29, 2024, and she'll be back on the road for a small festival run in the spring of 2025 with stops in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil.
What's Next for Rodrigo?
Olivia Rodrigo‘s GUTS world tour will officially end Oct. 22 in Sydney, Australia, and when it’s over, she’s got plans — to do nothing. Speaking to Billboard, Olivia says she’s been writing music while on the road, but it’s nothing she’s going to release anytime soon. “Writing songs is really therapeutic for me, so I’m always noodling around making stuff even when I’m not in the studio making an album,” she says. “I’m definitely going to take a little vacation after this tour though! I’m trying not to put too much pressure on anything right now.” As for what she’s learned on her first-ever arena tour that she might apply to her next tour, Oliviasays, “The only thing I can think to do differently next time is to not overpack. My luggage is bursting at the seams!”
