Refreshed from a two-week international break, the latest Fantasy Challenge focuses on defensive success, where clean sheets are worth DOUBLE points.

Armed with a £30.0m budget to select a 5-a-side team, the only useable formation involves two goalkeepers and three defenders.

Here, The Scout pinpoints the best picks in the remaining matches.

Spurs v Arsenal

The North London derby is a tough match to predict, especially with the recent form of both teams. Arsenal had a watertight defense last season, although the north London derbies ended 2-2 and 3-2. They enter this one without the suspended Declan Rice (£6.3m) and strong availability doubts over Martin Odegaard (£8.3m), which perhaps weakens their clean sheet prospects.

So, targeting defenders with attacking potential may be the strategy for this fixture.

Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.0m) is known for his set-piece threat while Spurs’ Pedro Porro (£5.5m) had six shots in Gameweek 3.

Wolves v Newcastle

Finally, the match at Molineux, where five of their previous six meetings have ended as a score draw. This match is a real toss-up, with both teams having good defensive records. Newcastle are coming off a 3-0 win over Brentford, but Wolves are unbeaten in their last five matches.

Predicting Newcastle’s starting full-backs could be tricky, but at least Fabian Schar (£5.4m) is now back from a ban. He bagged four goals last season but comes with a hefty price tag. Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.5m) is one to watch after he started Gameweek 3 as a left winger, providing he recovers from a knock.

Who to Pick?

The best defenders to pick for Gameweek 4 are those with attacking potential and a good chance of keeping a clean sheet. Gabriel Magalhaes and Pedro Porro are both good options, but keep an eye on the availability of key players in both teams. For Newcastle, Fabian Schar is a good pick, but you could also consider Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has a good attacking record.

It's important to consider the latest team news and form before making your final decisions. However, these are some of the best defenders to pick for Gameweek 4 based on their recent performances and potential to earn big points.

A Closer Look at Player Availability

Suspended Players

The Premier League website has a dedicated section that shows which players are unavailable for Premier League matches because they are serving a ban or are close to suspension due to their accumulation of yellow cards.

After Declan Rice was sent off after a second yellow card against Brighton & Hove Albion in Matchweek 3, he will serve a one-match ban for Arsenal, ruling him out of the north London derby at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 15 September.

Southampton defender Jack Stephens is suspended until Matchweek 7 after receiving a straight red card in the 3-0 loss to Manchester United. He will miss two Premier League matches, against Ipswich Town and AFC Bournemouth, as well as an EFL Cup meeting with Everton, before returning to availability for a trip to Arsenal on 5 October.

Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar is available to return this weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers, after a straight red card against Southampton in Matchweek 1 resulted in a three-match ban that included the EFL Cup win at Nottingham Forest.

Yellow Card Accumulation

Players who receive a total of five yellow cards in their first 19 fixtures will be given a one-match suspension. Currently there are 10 players on two yellow cards.

Should a player be booked 10 times across their first 32 matches in the competition, they will be suspended for two matches. Yellow cards are not carried over to the EFL Cup or FA Cup.
