A sexual assault case was filed against South actor Siddique by an actress, who alleged she was assaulted by him in 2016. Now, going by new reports on the situation, the police have found substantial evidence against the actor, that could lead to his arrest. Here are all the details of the report.
As per the complaint filed by the young actress, she was summoned to a hotel by Siddique, located in Thiruvananthapuram. The evidence obtained by the police suggests the actor was staying at the Mascot Hotel during the time, which aligns with the period mentioned in the complaint. According to the hotel records, Siddique checked in at the place on January 28, 2016. Going by the reports, the actress stated that the assault happened in January or February.
Hotel Records and Statements
The police got hold of the actor’s records at the hotel, which included his stay, his entries at the hotel’s visitor register and documents related to a film preview. They have recorded statements from the staff present at the time as well as the statements of the complainant’s parents. The statements of the drivers and the people who attended the preview will also be taken.
According to reports, the film preview took place at the Nila Theatre on January 28, 2016, which also happens to be the day of Siddique’s stay. The complaint stated that the actress was invited to the film preview at the hotel when she was harassed.
Investigating the Incident
The police have asked the hotel to give all the information about the guests who stayed at the place between January and February. As per the actress’ statement, she signed the visitor register and went to Siddique’s room on the first floor. A copy of the register is kept at the KTDC headquarters, mentioning the hotel, which will be examined by the police. Siddique has denied the allegations, stating he never met the actress at the hotel. Furthermore, he has filed a complaint with the DGP against her.
Resignation and Further Allegations
After the allegations, Siddique resigned from his general secretory post at AMMA organisation. According to the complainant, several other of her acquaintances had similar experiences with the accused.
