Susanna Reid, the host of Good Morning Britain, admitted to feeling sick during Monday's broadcast. This revelation came following an investigation by the ITV show into the ease with which zombie knives could be purchased online.

The host was clearly taken aback after the show managed to secure five such knives from a number of online stores without having to produce any identification either at the time of purchase or on delivery. Speaking about the obtained weapons in the studio, she expressed her deep shock: "It is absolutely gobsmacking that any of those weapons could be brought online, legally.

"It makes me feel sick, our producer brought them into the studio a little bit earlier, I felt ill just being in the presence of them."

Speaking of the serious and chilling implements, Susanna informed viewers that only two would be considered illegal as of later this month.

In a tragic segment on the show, Susanna and Ed Balls engaged in conversation with Pooja Kanda, whose son Ronan tragically lost his life in a case of mistaken identity when attacked by a ninja sword - a weapon not included in the upcoming ban.

Discussing the government's decision not to include ninja swords in the legal prohibition, Poonja poignantly queried: "Why do we need these types of weapons?

"Why are we making them available? I can't find the reason. All I want is for these to be banned," reports the Mirror.

This episode marked Susanna's return to the screens, following a significant absence away from her role on the ITV programme.

The presenter had originally declared back in July that she would be taking a summer break, resulting in various other hosts substituting in her stead.

Her triumphant return caused quite a stir online, with many fans delighted to see her back alongside her familiar co-host.

On Twitter, fans were ecstatic about Susanna's return to Good Morning Britain. One user exclaimed: "Welcome back fabulous lovely Susanna Reid Good morning to everyone have a beautiful Happy Monday to all the presenters at GMB and have a wonderful lovely great day."

Another chimed in with enthusiasm: "The A-Team is back!! Laura, The Weather Ed, and Susanna are on the desk!! ! It's gonna be a great week!!!"

A third fan declared: "Welcome back Susanna queen of the morning."

"Welcome back Susanna. I hope the early alarm wasn't too painful," quipped another in jest.

One viewer expressed their contentment: "It's nice to see both of you back."

And yet another added warmly: "Susanna's back finally."

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
