Legendary FOX NFL Sunday co-host Terry Bradshaw is set to make a return to horse racing after announcing a team-up with fellow host Curt Menefee. Bradshaw, who has always been involved in farming and owning thoroughbred racehorses since his playing days, hinted at his comeback during a horse sale in Lexington, Kentucky, two months ago.
Confirming his intentions on FOX, Bradshaw set his sights on the Kentucky Derby. He said: "Curt and I are fired up because we've formed Pregame Stables. We are now in the thoroughbred business. We are jacked up. Kentucky Derby-bound, baby!"
The duo have been sharing the screen on FOX for over a decade, so they're no strangers to collaboration. Menefee, 59, brings his experience from presenting network's Belmont Stakes coverage.
At the Lexington sale in September, Bradshaw was visibly excited about returning to horse racing. He said: "My wife and I want to have a little more fun. We do hunters, jumpers, pleasure, halter, and we're in the breeding business. But I said, 'Let's get back in'. We're going to get one running horse either here or somewhere, and we'll get back in."
News of Bradshaw's return to horse racing follows a series of on-air gaffes during FOX NFL Sunday, leading to calls from Mark Giangreco for the 76-year-old to be "saved". Giangreco, 72, now contributing to ESPN radio after stepping down from his long-standing role as an ABC7 anchor in 2021, is a self-confessed Bradshaw fan but has voiced concerns over his decline.
In a post on X, Giangreco wrote: "Terry Bradshaw stumbling thru the hilites was funny and folksy at first now it's really aggravating, uncomfortable and annoying, falling behind and mispronouncing until Curt Menefee has to take over and bail him out. It's sad. I love the original TB. Save him from the embarrassment."
Irish Star readers on MSN had plenty to say about Terry's latest career move...
Jerry D: Am a big fan of Terry, and I wish him the best of luck in his new adventures. Terry was a great presence on the football field and in the broadcast booth, and he will be missed.
Emiliano Briones Cortez: He was a human tackling dummy for a good part of his life. His risk of suffering debilitating conditions from concussions and chronic pain from injuries have to be factored into the decision. Athletes who experience multiple concussions can suffer memory loss, depression, headaches, and psychological problems. Doing something he enjoys sounds cathartic.
SC: He was always my favorite on the show by a mile, but I do fear he's lost a step... he's kind of gotten that "older, angrier, out of it" vibe going that I'm scared to say I actually see happening in my one of my own family members...
WW: Getting old sucks. Terry Bradshaw is an icon and should be given the respect he deserves. If leaving the NFL show is true, I wish him the best in his journey. It sounds like he will have fun. No better way to go than having fun.
Jerry Jeffra: It is time for the not too funny clown to hang up the mike and perhaps take a few others with him. Bradshaw was an excellent QB. not the best, but a high contributor to the Steelers Super Bowl teams.
Superbombastik: Though he should be respected he should also recognize when its time to step away. That was quite a while ago for him. Hes lucky to be alive given the beating he took as a player. But he's never been very intellectual and he is feudal. Right or wrong his attitude and behavior during Covid was embarrassingly bad and in poor taste.
haastafer: We 'all' have to face it - ageism. we 'all' have our time in the spotlight and must learn that when the spotlight time comes to an end, we 'either' move-on OR out of the way. we 'all' know this fact - its just that 'some' don't like it.
At 72, Bradshaw has walked down the aisle on four different occasions. The legendary quarterback, who won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is a regular fixture on FOX NFL Sunday.
While he is currently married to his fourth partner, many would think he has tied the knot with broadcasting, as he is unrelenting in the face of repeated calls to retire. However, his marriage history is just as fascinating as his personal playbook.

Bradshaw once revealed that when he joined the NFL, he would receive many letters from different women he had never meet, asking to be his girlfriend. He would ignore those various requests before marrying Melissa Babish, who won Miss Teenage America in 1968.
Reflecting on the time they met, he quipped: "She liked me a whole lot. In fact, she liked me so much that after we'd gone out only a few times, she introduced me to her friend and suggested I go out with her."
They exchanged vows in 1972 but cut their time together after 18 months. They split up when Bradshaw started experiencing mental health problems that saw him veer away from his religious beliefs and towards alcohol.
It did not take long for Bradshaw to walk down the aisle again. Two years after splitting with Babish, Bradshaw married famous ice skater Jojo Starbuck.
Their time together was a lot more successful, but it ended in 1983. In an interview with the Washington Post, he admitted that he lost focus on his marriage as he started pursuing new business ventures, which took his interest away from his duties as a husband.
Following his previous marital collapse, Bradshaw married Charla Hopkins in 1986, a law student at the time and daughter of Denton councilman Charles Hopkins. The couple had two daughters, Erin and Rachel. When they married, their ceremony was held at the Texas Woman's University.
Their marriage concluded in 1999. Reflecting on his relationship with the family lawyer in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Bradshaw said: "I met her when she was 19, but I thought she was 22.
"We dated four years, and I put her through the grind. We broke up and then got back together. I had been afraid she really didn't love me. Once I realized this was the real thing, it was wonderful."
Bradshaw has found enduring love with current spouse Tammy. An ardent football aficionado, Tammy has shared in the past that despite her love for the game, she never witnessed Bradshaw play during his heydays.
The ex-star quarterback revealed he had no intention of forming any more relationships until his affection for Tammy forced him to change his mind. When asked about the marriage, he said: "We dated 13 years, never lived together.
"[We were both] coming out of bad divorces and when I was getting close to her, I'd run and hide for six weeks, then come running back. I said, 'There's nobody getting their hands around my heart again.'
"I fought her for 13 years, and to her credit, not one time ever did she ever say, 'Where's this going?'" Delving into how they tied the knot in 2014, he said: "I passed [Tammy] in the hallway and said, 'Oh listen, we're getting married Tuesday in Hawaii.'
"She said okay and we kept going. We get there and she said, 'If you're serious, we need to get a license.' So we got one. I'd already called my preacher. It was fun!"
The latest NFL news and headlines
Terry Bradshaw, the four-time Super Bowl champion and veteran broadcaster, has revealed his new venture into horse racing during his latest appearance on NFL FOX on Sunday. The 76-year-old Pittsburgh Steelers icon, who has been a mainstay on the show since 1994, announced that he and co-host Curt Menefee have set up Pregame Stables to trade racehorses.
Speaking on FOX, Bradshaw expressed his excitement about the new venture, saying: "Curt and I are fired up because we've formed Pregame Stables. "We are now in the thoroughbred business. We are jacked up. Kentucky Derby-bound, baby!
Previously, the one-time NFL MVP shared his and his wife's interest in the horse racing industry, stating: "My wife and I want to have a little more fun. "We do hunters, jumpers, pleasure, halter, and we're in the breeding business. But I said, 'Let's get back in'. We're going to get one running horse either here or somewhere, and we'll get back in."
As Bradshaw continues to face backlash from viewers over his NFL FOX analysis on Sunday, one fan expressed their support for the analyst's new venture, stating: "Am a big fan of Terry, and I wish him the best of luck in his new adventures.
"Terry was a great presence on the football field and in the broadcast booth, and he will be missed." Another viewer chimed in: "Bradshaw makes the Fox NFL show watchable.
"The others just go through their routines. He'll be missed on the show," while a third added: "Good to see he's returning to the horse world.
"He's had a few good horses during his time. " However, not everyone was as supportive, with one critic remarking: "I have been a big fan of Terry over the years, but everyone has a time that they need to retire from our 'regular day job' and pursue other interests.
"At 76 it is obvious that Terry has lost a step or two from the past NFL analyst." Yet, another viewer welcomed Bradshaw's move into horse racing, asserting: "Great shout out to thoroughbred racing and @BreedersCup race winner, trainer @KennyMcPeek on @NFLonFOX pre game show by new racehorse investor Terry Bradshaw -special opportunity for our industry."

When Bradshaw first drafted into the NFL, he arrived on a tidal wave of hype and optimism. He would soon go on to meet Melissa Babish, who is best known as being Miss Teenage America in 1968.
Speaking about how they met, he said in a previous interview: "She liked me a whole lot. In fact, she liked me so much that after we'd gone out only a few times, she introduced me to her friend and suggested I go out with her."
After marrying in 1972, the pair split 18 months later later, after he endured a 'mid-life crisis' age 26, which saw him move away from his Christian beliefs and towards alcohol.
Two years after his divorce with Babish, Bradshaw was joined in holy matrimony with famous ice skater Jojo Starbuck. They were married for seven years before they split in 1983. Bradshaw has previously admitted to the Washington Post that he blamed the divorce on himself, claiming his passion for making money took over.
He said this desire to become rich saw him neglect his husbandry duties, leading to Starbuck becoming unhappy.

Tammy supported Terry through two cancer diagnoses within a year in 2022 when he admitted he had been treated for bladder cancer and skin cancer and was now cancer free.
Terry explained that Tammy had been his everything through his health woes in a chat with Today. He said: "Took me a long time before I told my family. I can't put into words how thankful I am for her.
However, the couple are going strong and renewed their vows in 2021 after seven years married. While they don't share any children, they have blended their families to include their daughters from previous relationships, Lacey, Rachel and Erin, and several grandchildren.
Tammy previously admitted that when she first met Terry she had no clue who he was despite her love of football. She told People back in 2020: "I watched football growing up my whole life. Every Sunday, we always watched football. But I do not ever remember watching the Steelers play. And I never saw him play in a live football game."
Tammy said that she didn't understand why she noticed he had the number 12 on a lot of items in his home and after three months of dating she asked him adding: "Finally, after three months, I was like, 'So, what's up with the number 12?' I had no clue!"

The couple spontaneously married in Hawaii in 2014, and talking on E!'s The Bradshaw Bunch, Terry admitted his past failed marriages meant it had to be a spur of the moment thing - so much so they didn't even invite their kids.
He said: "I knew I had to get married overnight or it wouldn't happen at all," he added to closer: "I passed [Tammy] in the hallway and said, 'Oh listen, we're getting married Tuesday in Hawaii.' She said okay and we kept going. We get there and she said, 'If you're serious, we need to get a license.' So we got one. I'd already called my preacher. It was fun!"
Terry and Tammy then renewed their vows in 2021 and headed to Hawaii again for the event, which was shown on The Bradshaw Bunch.
Tammy said in the episode: "Our wedding was perfect, and he was so handsome. It's hard to believe it was seven years ago," to which Terry joked:"What do you mean he 'was'? It was only seven years ago. Have I gotten ugly since then?"
