The Rock returned at WWE Bad Blood 2024, and so did Jimmy Uso. Fans went crazy as a hooded Jimmy Uso saved Roman Reigns with a pair of superkicks on the Guerrillas of Destiny. Reigns was outnumbered as Cody Rhodes was out of action after diving through a table on Jacob Fatu.
Jimmy and Rocky’s return sets up a likely Bloodline Civil War at WWE Survivor Series WarGames, and The Rock’s return will once again be a topic of discussion at that PLE as well.
Rocky’s return followed rumors of a big comeback after Rock reportedly attended a high school football game in the Georgia area. Bad Blood went off the air with a cliffhanger as it was not clear where The Rock’s loyalties lied: with the OG Bloodline or the new Bloodline?
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes teamed up for the first time ever as the two top babyfaces in their prime challenged the Bloodline. This marked Reigns’ first entrance in four years without a world championship, but both entrances had all the pageantry of WrestleMania 40.
WWE Bad Blood 2024 Main Event
A star-studded main event led to tickets flying off the shelf for WWE’s 60th sellout of 2024. With The Rock and Jimmy Uso back in the fold headed into WrestleMania season, WWE is on pace to outdo its two previous historic WrestleManias.
After a standard Bloodline entrance, Cody Rhodes was played out by the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff marching band. Not to be outdone, Roman Reigns made his entrance accompanied to the Georgia Philharmonic. Fans chanted both “OTC!” and “Cody!” before the match even started. It was far from a coincidence that Cody was wearing red and gold, Mega Powers colors.
After a brief discussion, Cody Rhodes started the match against Jacob Fatu. Solo Sikoa stepped in to support his enforcer, prompting Roman to step in and have Cody’s back to a huge pop.
Cody Rhodes answered “OTC!” chants by tagging in Roman Reigns. Reigns bludgeoned Solo with 10-count punches. Solo temporarily came back, but Roman sent Solo over the top rope.
In comes Jacob Fatu, setting up Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu. Off the distraction, Solo attacked Reigns from behind to immense heat.
Fatu tagged in and ran wild on Roman Reigns, including an explosive butt bump in the corner.
Reigns tagged in Cody, but The Bloodline took control as Solo Sikoa tagged in and worked over Cody Rhodes. Fans chanted “you can’t wrestle” and “F-U Solo” as he beats down Rhodes. Jacob and Solo took turns making quick tags as they dominated Cody Rhodes with dueling butt bumps.
After many teased tags to Roman Reigns, The OTC finally tagged in and ran wild on Solo Sikoa.
Solo Sikoa tried to counter a Superman Punch with a Samoan Spike, but Reigns countered the counter with a crucifix rollup.
Jacob Fatu tipped the scales in the Bloodline’s favor as The Bloodline took turns with Samoan Splashes and moonsaults on Roman. Cody Rhodes saved Reigns by breaking up the pinfall. Jacob went charging after Rhodes on the outside, but went through the barricade.
Cody Rhodes capitalized by placing Jacob on the table and diving through it with a Cody Splash. Before making the splash, Rhodes told Reigns to take it from here. This led to “this is awesome!” chants.
As Reigns went for the Spear on Sikoa, the Tongans showed up to distract Reigns. This led to a Samoan Spike and a nearfall. Solo went for another Samoan Spike, but was distracted by a man in a hoodie. The man super kicked the Guerrillas of Destiny and revealed himself to be Jimmy Uso. Roman Speared Solo for the win.
After the match, The New Bloodline attacked Cody Rhodes. Jimmy Uso convinced Roman to return to the ring and save Cody, which they both did. After clearing the ring, Reigns picked up the Undisputed WWE Championship and stared at it lovingly as fans booed. He then reluctantly handed it over to Rhodes.
The Rock’s Return
Cue The Rock, who came back with the People’s Championship. Rock said nothing, signaled “1, 2, 3...” and walked off.
The Rock’s return was certainly a surprise, but it also served as a reminder of the potential for a Bloodline Civil War to play out at Survivor Series WarGames. The question is, will The Rock choose the side of the OG Bloodline or the side of the New Bloodline? Only time will tell.
The return of The Rock at Bad Blood 2024, alongside Jimmy Uso, has injected a dose of chaos into WWE. The Bloodline’s rivalry with Reigns and Rhodes has reached an unprecedented level of tension, and it's clear that this story is far from over. With Survivor Series WarGames on the horizon, the tension is only going to escalate as the two Bloodlines battle for dominance. The Rock’s role in this conflict remains a mystery, but his return has certainly added a new layer of intrigue to the already electrifying storyline. Will the Bloodline survive the coming storm? Stay tuned to find out.
