Tottenham 0-1 West Ham

Tottenham host London rivals West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the early Saturday, Premier League kick-off time slot. Ange Postecoglou’s men are looking to bounce back from their disappointing 3-2 loss they suffered against Brighton just before the international break.

The North London outfit had been on a five-game unbeaten run before the defeat, with pressure once again now on the Australian coach and his side. They face no easy task against their close rivals, after an initial poor start to the season, Julen Lopetegui’s  Hammers will be looking for a statement win against Spurs.

Tottenham vs West Ham LIVE updates

Follow Mail Sport's live coverage below for the live score, team news, latest updates and reaction.

Early Kick-off

The stadium is certainly making some noise now after that chance. The hosts have a flurry of unsuccessful corners before Dominic Solanke tries an acrobatic effort in the box. It doesn't work, though, the ball pea rolls into the hands of Alphonse Areola.

Brennan Johnson Misses Huge Chance

How has Brennan Johnson missed that? I'm in disbelief, Johnson heads wide with the net gaping from just six yards out. You just expect the net to ripple as the ball comes his way but he only gets a shoulder on it and it goes out for a corner. A huge chance goes begging.

Tottenham Fans Go Silent

The life has been sucked out of the stadium now, the home fans are practically silent. The only way that changes is if the home side get their act back together.

West Ham On The Counter

The West Ham fans in the corner are now singing their hearts out. The away end went crazy when the ball hit the back of the net, goals in this fixture mean so much. It came largely against the run of play, but West Ham were threatening on the counter.

Kudus Opens the Scoring

This time Mohammed Kudus makes no mistake! It's that link up again as Jarrod Bowen finds Kudus to fire West Ham into the lead. Tottenham couldn't get the ball clear and Bowen drives into the box before pulling the ball back to Kudus, who is in acres of space. You know the rest, he was never missing twice in a row, was he?

Son Heung-Min Nearly Scores

Oh, Son Heung-Min, that was so very nearly exceptional. The ball comes his way and he sends Aaron Wan-Bissaka into a spin before bending the ball toward the far corner. For a split second, it looks destined for the net but it flies just wide of the post. He's not taken long to get back up to speed, that's for sure.

Tottenham Start to Find Their Flow

Tottenham are starting to find their flow now, they are pinning West Ham back in their own half. Guido Rodriguez is very active at the moment, he sweeps across to put the ball behind for a Spurs corner and the fans roar. But the set-piece is pants...

Johnson's Confidence

Oh Brennan Johnson, what a hit that is! The ball falls to him beautifully from a tight angle and he certainly fancies it with the form he is in. He arrows the ball fiercely toward the far corner and it flashes just wide of the post. It was such a lovely strike, I made a weird noise as he hit it.

Open Game

This game is very open... just the way Ange Postecoglou likes it. There seems to be spaces all over the pitch for both teams to attack and Tottenham are the side finding them with regularity thus far. Dejan Kulusevski seems to be having a good time of it.

Early Stoppage in Play

It's taken just 15 seconds for the first stoppage in play. Lucas Paqueta lands awkwardly while challenging for the ball in the air and he takes some time to get up again. When he does, he realises he has given away a free-kick...

Tottenham vs West Ham Teams Are Ready to Go

I'm still dancing in my chair, this music is brilliant. Both teams have their final huddles and hugs before getting into their positions, and the music is now off. There is a monster roar from the 60-odd thousand in here before the hosts get us underway. It's got the feeling of a cracker.

Matchday Atmosphere

For a lunchtime kick-off, this atmosphere is not too bad. Normally fans are still waking up at this time, but some of the Tottenham supporters look well up for this. I mean, it is a derby, if they weren't I would be slightly worried. I'm sure the noise levels will only go up when they see the two teams take to the pitch.

Pre-Match Interview with Julen Lopetegui

Julen Lopetegui, West Ham boss, speaking to TNT Sports:

Tottenham vs West Ham - Get Ready!

Now is the time to get excited - I know I am. We are just under 15 minutes away from seeing the Premier League get back underway. The two teams have just left the pitch after their warm-ups, this is when the nerves begin to start. Well, they don't exactly look happy, so they must be focused.

The Stats Don't Lie

It's stat pack time! Squakwa have provided us with some interesting statistics ahead of what I expect to be one hell of a London derby. Why do I think that, though? Well, the proof is in the pudding as they say. As you can see, they both love to score but also have their struggles at the back. That's why I said to expect goals.

Tottenham vs West Ham Derby History

Tottenham's record in London derbies has not looked entirely great of late. Spurs have lost four of their six most recent London derbies in the Premier League, only taking home four points from them. Not fantastic, eh? Well, the same can't be said about West Ham, their recent record in derbies has been fairly good. They are unbeaten in their last three but have only won one of those. I'm not sure which way this one will go, but I expect some goals...

Ange Postecoglou Pre-Match Interview

Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham boss, on TNT Sports:

Pre-Match Chicken Shop Rush

You know it's matchday when there is a long line outside of a chicken shop before midday. Chick-King must love the fact that the Premier League is back in action, the customers are flooding in. Many others are opting to head straight to the ground, though, they obviously don't fancy some pre-match munch. My go-to is always a pie and chips, can't beat it.

Brennan Johnson's Red-Hot Form

Brennan Johnson has been on one hell of a hot streak. The Tottenham winger was ridiculed after the North London Derby earlier in the season. But look at him now... Johnson has scored in his last six appearances for Tottenham and also netted in the week for Wales. Can he add another today?

Michail Antonio Pre-Match Interview

Michail Antonio, West Ham forward, on TNT Sports:

AI Prediction

Now this would be good, wouldn't it? Well, for neutrals anyway. AI is scary these days, but it does make for great content like this. Our friends at SportsCasting have used it to predict today's game. It reckons that we are in for a four-goal thriller with Brennan Johnson scoring another goal for Tottenham. However, they don't believe we will see a winner with West Ham scoring an 85th-minute equaliser. If this does turn out 2-2, I really will be spooked.

Ange Postecoglou on Tottenham's Defeats

Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham boss, speaking on Friday:

Michail Antonio's Impact

Tottenham fans will not be happy to see Michail Antonio's name on that teamsheet. The West Ham striker has terrorised them over the years, he adores playing against them. His six goals in this derby are the most he has against any single Premier League side. Big. Game. Player.

Tottenham Need a Response

Tottenham fans needed those two weeks, didn't they? Their team's loss to Brighton just before the international break is nearly as bad as it gets. They were in dreamland at half-time, 2-0 up, and cruising on the south coast. Then it all fell apart. Ange Postecoglou looked like a broken man after that defeat, and his players didn't look much better off. They need to respond today, otherwise questions will be asked.

Alan Shearer's Thoughts

Alan Shearer, former Newcastle striker, speaking to Betfair:

Tottenham vs West Ham Team News

We have our answer. After three games away, Ange Postecoglou picks captain Son Heung-Min in the starting line-up. He replaces Timo Werner on the left while Yves Bissouma also comes back into the fold. A very attacking team...

West Ham Team News

No surprises here then. West Ham stick to the same line-up that got them a 4-1 win over Ipswich before the international break. Michail Antonio was on fire that day, so that's why he keeps his place. Can they deliver again?

Son Heung-Min Returns From Injury

I bet Tottenham fans are happy to see this post. Their beloved captain Son Heung-Min has been sidelined for the past three matches through injury. But he has just been spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium with the rest of his team-mates. That can only mean one thing, right? We expect the skipper to be involved, but in what capacity is unknown as of yet. Will he start, or will he be a super sub today? We will find out in just a few minutes.

Tottenham vs West Ham: A Derby Like No Other

There is a London derby every week in the Premier League, isn't there? This isn't any London derby, though, Tottenham and West Ham really do not like each other. You could argue that Spurs are the Hammers' biggest rivals, they have real bad blood. The teams only sit three places apart in the table at the moment and both have had topsy-turvy starts to the campaign. However, form goes out the window on days like these.

Premier League Returns with a Bang

Oh yeah, the Premier League is back! It may have only been two weeks, but it feels like a lifetime since we last saw a ball kicked in England's top flight. It's returning with one hell of a bang too... We kick this weekend off with a tasty London derby, but not just any old battle in the capital. Tottenham host their rivals West Ham, and it's certainly not going to be a friendly derby. Expect handbags at every possible chance, and hopefully lots of goals. Anyway, that's enough blabbing, let's get this show on the road.
