Man City vs Fulham: How to Watch, Team News and Prediction

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Premier League clash between Man City and Fulham from the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

City will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season as they aim to keep the pressure on league leaders Liverpool at the top of the table.

Pep Guardiola's side have drawn their last two Premier League games against Arsenal and Newcastle United but will hope their 4-0 win away at Slovan Bratislava will serve as a springboard to return to winning ways domestically.

However, they take on a Fulham side who have not lost since their opening day defeat to Manchester United and who would move level on points with City with a win this afternoon.

Stick with us for all of the build-up, updates, reaction and analysis from the Etihad Stadium throughout the day.

Team News

Pep Guardiola offered an update on Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake yesterday:

It feels like we're only just on the back one international break and we're about to head into another, so this is the last chance for players to impress Pep Guardiola before a fortnight off.

In Bratislava, Guardiola rested some key names like Ederson, Ruben Dias, Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva, with Jack Grealish also on the bench.

Those players will expect a recall today to keep things fresh, which might mean the attacking wing pair of Jeremy Doku and Savinho get a rest.

Phil Foden started and looked closer to his best in Slovakia, so will he get another run-out to build hit fitness?

Guardiola might not have enough players to fill his bench - especially with the under-21s playing across the road at 7pm tonight - but he has enough options to rotate.

Pep Guardiola is expected to ring the changes from Tuesday's 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava. Here's how we expect them to line up against Fulham...

City predicted XI; Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Lewis, Kovacic, Foden; Bernardo, Grealish, Haaland

Fulham Boss on the Absence of Rodri

The Fulham boss has addressed their absence from today's game and while he recognises their qualities, he believes City have the ideal solutions in midfield to not miss them too much.

He told Fulham's club website:

“To be clear, and I think Pep has already spoken about it, if any team in the world loses a player like Rodri, you are going to miss something,” Marco said in his pre-match press conference.

“It’s almost impossible to find another player like him. They have players who perform at a top level, but for them Rodri is a special one and even in the Euros he was a top player.

“They have other solutions; you see how [Mateo] Kovačić is playing there, they have [Ílkay] Gündoğan now and he’s player who Pep has used well in many different ways, and now they have [Phil] Foden coming back in a good shape.

“We need to show massive respect to them because if it’s not Rodri it’ll be another one, if it’s not De Bruyne it’ll be another one. They have so much individual quality in their squad.”

Key Talking Points

The Citizens will be looking to bounce back from their recent draws and continue their strong start to the Premier League season. Fulham, on the other hand, are enjoying their best start to a season in years and will be hoping to upset the reigning champions.

Guardiola will be hoping his key players can regain their form after a busy week and, while Fulham will be confident after their recent performances, it’s unlikely they will be able to prevent City from getting back to winning ways.

Prediction

Man City are a formidable force at home and we expect them to be too strong for a Fulham side who, despite their impressive recent form, are still relatively early in their development.

We predict a comfortable win for the Citizens, with Haaland getting back on the scoresheet.

Man City 3-0 Fulham
