Tyson Fury has shown off his kicks during a new skit from his training camp as he prepares for his boxing comeback this December. The legendary two-time heavyweight champion is currently preparing for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk after losing for the first time as a professional back in May. He was cruising to victory first time around before the Ukrainian landed a massive punch late on that almost stopped him. That completely changed the dynamic of the fight, and Usyk managed to overcome the odds to land an historic victory. The win saw him claim the first undisputed heavyweight title in boxing’s four-belt era, which followed his reign as undisputed at cruiserweight. In a new video posted to social media, Tyson Fury showed off his leg kicks while training with WKO kickboxing coach Kancho Robert McInnes and his son Junior. It is clearly a comedy skit, filmed while Fury has been training with the pair. Fury can be seen watching two men training kicks, before being called over to try it himself. McInnes then whispers him a ‘secret’ before he loads up on a kick that immediately floors his teammate despite him holding a pad. Fans commented in their droves, stating the seemingly obvious that Fury clearly staged the skit for comedic effect. And some joked that he should consider a switch up in sports, with one writing: “I’ve seen enough, give him Francis Ngannou in the octagon.” Famously in October of last year, Tyson Fury pulled through with his threat of a crossover fight as he took on UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The pair had teased a match with hybrid rules, but they instead took part in a standard ten-round professional boxing bout. Ngannou gave a solid showing, lasting the distance and even dropping Fury on route to a razor-close split decision defeat. It was enough to earn him another boxing fight with Anthony Joshua this year, which he lost by way of a vicious knockout in the second round. But there is still interest in a rematch between Fury and Ngannou, particularly if the boxer was willing to make some concessions on the ruleset. And should he lose to Oleksandr Usyk, it may be his route to one last monster payday in Saudi Arabia if he faces the MMA fighter again. Before all of that, however, Fury must first attempt to win back his belts in a rematch with Usyk. The pair will rematch on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where their initial meeting happened earlier this year. Fury insists that he feels he won, and even theorised that the war in Ukraine may have influenced judges to be more favorable to Usyk. But he has also reflected on what went wrong, telling the media after the fact: “It was close enough. One judge had me winning by a round and one of them had him winning by a round and that was the final decision. I thought I boxed the head right off him for most of the rounds. The fight was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, a lot easier. People say he’s a hard man to hit, I was landing three or four punch combinations, laughing at him. My problem in that fight was that I was probably having too much fun. It was probably too easy. At times it was too easy. It was like I was in there with a local amateur boxer, and I was just enjoying it too much and messing around. I paid the ultimate price in round nine when I got a 10-8 round and got clipped. That’s what happens when you’re having too much fun. But I enjoyed it.”
It seems as though Tyson Fury is taking a page out of Oleksandr Usyk's book of 'quirky training methods' ahead of their rematch in Saudi Arabia. In his latest Instagram post, Fury can be seen showcasing his unique take on karate ahead of their highly anticipated rematch on December 21. Fans were quick to suggest Fury was jumping on the 'weird and wonderful' training bandwagon given Usyk's track record. The Ukrainian is known for working on his agility and footwork with alternative exercises such as juggling and underwater shadow boxing. The undisputed heavyweight champion of the world was most recently seen riding a water bine in a charity race in Monaco. Now it's Fury's turn. He's taken to social media to post a video of himself karate training alongside Shorin Kempo Kaikan and Junior Robert Mcinnes. The Gypsy King is seen watching the session before being dragged into the middle of the ring to kick the bag. Fury is being heckled with those around shouting: 'Come on then big boy. You want some? Come here. Let's go'. The Gypsy King smiles and sets himself up and executes the kick, sending the pad-man tumbling to the ground before walking off and laughing. Fury shared a clip of the video on social media with the following caption: 'Just some old-school training.' Fury previously stated he was back in training ahead of the rematch with Usyk - having previously worried fans after a big night out at Cibo Restaurant in Wilmslow.
Tyson Fury has jokingly hinted at a future switch to Muay Thai - just three months before his do-or-die rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The Gypsy King is slowly ramping up preparations for his December dust-up with the Ukranian, who ended his dream of becoming undisputed heavyweight champion last May. But the 36-year-old has suggested he wants to try his hand at the art of eight limbs after he walks away from boxing. On Tuesday, the Gypsy King shared a video of himself from his recent trip to Thailand at the World Kumite Organization gym. The video starts off with Fury leaning on the ring ropes before the Kru (teacher) encourages him to throw a low kick on the leg pad. Fury, who was donning an orange vest and incredibly short shorts, was left perplexed but eventually agreed before receiving some words of wisdom. And he floored the Kru with a hard, but far from aesthetically pleasing, right low kick. Scores of Fury's seven million Instagram followers commented on the clip, with one saying: “Thai-son Fury.” Another said: “I've seen enough, give him Francis Ngannou inside the octagon.
Tyson Fury is preparing for his comeback in the boxing ring on December 21 and he has some unique ways to prepare for that. The two-time heavyweight champion will make his return against Oleksandr Usyk after the latter gave Fury his career’s first loss as a professional back in May. The historic victory saw Usyk claim the undisputed heavyweight title. Now Fury wants his title back. But the “Gypsy King” is preparing for the fight in an unorthodox way. The ’34-1-1′ boxer posted a video on his Instagram page, showing him dabbling in some Muay Thai training. Fans were left confused and wondering if the former champion was hinting at a career in a different combat sport or simply teasing Usyk with his unique training. Remember when Joe Rogan said Tyson Fury doesn’t have a chance against Jon Jones in an MMA fight? The Mancunian seems to have taken it to heart. Tyson Fury posted a video with the caption “just some old-school training” which featured him doing some kicking practice. It was a comedy skit as the 6’9” giant was trying to include both fun and training at the same time because of his packed schedule. The video shows him training with the WKO kickboxing coach Kancho Robert McInnes and his son. At first, Tyson Fury was watching the two martial artists practicing their thigh kicks, but soon he was also invited to give it a try.
Is Tyson Fury's leg kick the fakest move you've ever seen? React!
A boisterous man holding a kickpad invited a young man standing in the ring to throw some kicks. A few kicks later, unaffected by the loud kicks, the man holding the pads shouted and dismissed the young man away for his lack of power. The boisterous man then looked over at the Gypsy King standing on the side and invited him in for a demonstration. The invitation startled the heavyweight giant for a second, but he took center stage after coach Kancho Robert McInnes asked him to step in. The duo could be heard mocking Fury as they shouted, “Come on then, big boy. You want some? Come here. Let’s go,” at the former champion. As Fury was loading up his kick, McInnes came forward and whispered something in his ears. After that, it took just one thigh kick from him to send the boisterous man crashing to the canvas, as he kept screaming and cursing at the former champion. Fans were left puzzled, speculating whether Fury was considering a shift to another combat sport or simply mocking his upcoming opponent, Usyk, with these quirky training techniques.
Is Tyson Fury fooling anyone with that leg kick, or was it just a bad skit?
It took no time before the fans started bashing the video and the former champion himself. One fan wrote, “Fury looks like a big baby in diapers 😂” laughing at the way the boxer was wearing his red tank top and shorts. The shorts were a tad bit short, which gave Fury a weird look and fans were not kind with their assessments. Another fan made fun of Fury’s appearance as the fan chastised, “Look like Captain Underpants 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” once again making fun of the way the shorts looked on the 6’9” former champion. Tyson Fury’s powerful kicks did not convince some fans, and they publicly declared the skit as fake. A fan claimed, “All an act, he jumped on the ground…” criticizing the practice and declaring the kick by Fury as rather weak. Although other users pointed out that the video was clearly staged, the damage to Fury’s credibility had already been done. Another fan realized that the skit was fake and let their feelings known as they contended, “The fakest skit I’ve ever seen.” But this fan was directly criticizing the bad acting that was put on display by the four individuals on screen. The video sparked both laughter and confusion among viewers, with many left wondering if this was part of Fury’s actual training or just a bit of fun. Some speculated that he might be taking inspiration from his opponent, Usyk, while others believed he was simply blowing off steam. However, a few fans had a more cynical take, with one commenting, “Damn….that Usyk beating ruined Tyson,” implying that the defeat against Oleksandr Usyk may have had a deeper psychological effect on the former champion.
Despite the mixed reactions to his training skit, Tyson Fury is set on reclaiming the undisputed heavyweight champion title when he faces Usyk in Saudi Arabia this December. From his recent interviews, Fury seems motivated and focused, but this humorous Muay Thai video does raise questions about his future and near-future plans.
