The beer, a 5% ABV pale ale, will be sold at all Vanderbilt home athletic events, as well as in the Jackalope taproom located in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. It also will be available at Nashville-area restaurants, in Kroger stores in Middle Tennessee and for purchase online in 45 states.

The proceeds of the beer will go towards Vanderbilt's scholarship program, Opportunity Vanderbilt, which provides full-tuition scholarships to students with family incomes below $150,000, and to the Vanderbilt Center for Addiction Research.
“The people at Jackalope have been terrific to collaborate with on this project,” athletic director Candice Lee said in the release. “As we continue to enhance the fan experience in our venues and connect with our fans outside of our campus footprint, we see the rollout of Conquer and Prevail as a fun and highly visible part of that effort.”
A Brew For The Commodores
Conquer and Prevail Pale Ale, a 5% ABV light and citrusy brew, is the first ever officially licensed beer of the Vanderbilt Commodores. The beer is the product of a collaboration between Vanderbilt athletics and Jackalope Brewing, a Nashville-based brewery founded by Vanderbilt Law School graduate Bailey Spaulding.
From The Gulch To The Stadium
Jackalope Brewing Company, founded in 2009 by Spaulding, has grown from its initial location in Nashville's The Gulch neighborhood to a new, larger brewery called The Ranch in Wedgewood-Houston. The brewery's craft beers are distributed throughout Tennessee and now are available for direct-to-consumer shipping in 45 states.
A Community Collaboration
The partnership, according to Vanderbilt, has created a new community experience for Commodore fans and Nashville residents. “We wanted to connect and build a sense of community — not just among Vanderbilt fans, but with everyone in the Nashville area,” Spaulding said in a release. “No matter our backgrounds, we can come together over a great-tasting beer, and we encourage everyone to enjoy the experience responsibly.”
Giving Back To The Community
A portion of the profits from sales of the beer and merchandise will go towards Opportunity Vanderbilt, the university’s no-loan financial aid program that provides awards, including full-tuition scholarships for households with income of $150,000 or less. Another portion of the profits will be donated to the Vanderbilt Center for Addiction Research.
The initiative, Vanderbilt says, will help to open doors for students and make the university more affordable for families. “Purchases of the beer will allow fans to both show their support for the Commodores and contribute to a cause that “opens doors for students through Opportunity Vanderbilt,” said Steve Ertel, Vanderbilt vice chancellor for communications and marketing.
A Beer To Conquer And Prevail
Conquer and Prevail Pale Ale will be available at all Vanderbilt athletic events beginning Saturday, August 31st. It will also be available at Jackalope's taproom, The Ranch, in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. The beer will also be available at select Nashville-area restaurants, in Kroger stores in Middle Tennessee, and for purchase online in 45 states.
A Toast To The Future
With the launch of Conquer and Prevail Pale Ale, Vanderbilt Athletics has taken a bold step in connecting with its fan base in new and exciting ways.
