The United States and international brackets for the 2024 Little League World Series continued to take shape Tuesday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Survival was the goal for all eight teams in action. Having tasted defeat already, one more loss sends them packing in the double-elimination format.

Venezuela's Walk-Off Win

Venezuela secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Aruba in the Little League World Series, advancing in the international bracket with a bases-loaded walk-off. Jhonson Freitez, a Venezuelan player, drew the crucial walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, sending Simón Vicheria home for the winning run. The victory eliminated Aruba from the tournament.

Aruba's Early Lead

Aruba took an early lead in the first inning when Izaak Martina scored on an RBI single by Henry Kransen. Martina had reached base on a walk and advanced on two fielder's choices before scoring.

Venezuela's Comeback

Venezuela, the Latin America Regional champion, battled back in the sixth inning. Jonathan Lancastea reached base on a bunt and was followed by three more successful bunts, loading the bases. Luis Yepez was hit by a pitch, loading the bases, and Venezuela tied the game on a wild pitch. With the bases loaded and two outs, Jhonson Freitez came to the plate. After a 10-pitch at bat, Freitez drew the game-winning walk, bringing home Vicheria and securing the victory.

Hawaii Wins in a Close Contest

Hawaii edged out Pennsylvania in a thrilling 3-1 victory. Hawaii jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning with some savvy baserunning and a sacrifice fly by Kanon Nakama. They added an insurance run in the fifth inning before Pennsylvania mounted a late comeback. Will Siveter's RBI single in the sixth brought Pennsylvania within two runs, but Nakama struck out Dean Hamilton with the go-ahead run on base to end the game.

Mexico's Comeback Victory

In a dramatic game that showcased the thrill of the Little League World Series, Mexico overcame a 4-1 deficit to defeat Cuba 6-4. Mexico's comeback started in the sixth inning. Antonio Guerrero blasted a three-run home run with two outs to tie the game. Then, with two outs and a runner on first, Ulises Ortiz hit a walk-off two-run home run, sending Cuba home and securing a spot in the next round for Mexico.

Florida Advances

Florida kept its Little League World Series hopes alive, defeating New York 6-1 on Tuesday. DeMarcos Mieses' three-run homer and Lathan Norton's six strikeouts were key to the Florida victory. Florida's win sets up a matchup against the West Region champions on Wednesday.

Looking Ahead

The Little League World Series continues Wednesday with more thrilling matchups. The intensity and excitement are building as teams battle for the championship. Keep an eye out for more exciting games and dramatic finishes, as the tournament reaches its climax.
