Summer may be winding down, but Wendy’s is offering customers a way to savor summer flavors a little while longer. Starting Aug. 5, Wendy’s announced a deal that’s sure to make all Frosty lovers reach for their straws, spoons and fries. The fast-food chain is offering a small Frosty for $1 at participating Wendy’s locations until September 15. The deal is unlimited and valid on the classic chocolate and limited-edition triple berry flavors while supplies last. The triple berry is seasonally inspired with strawberry, blackberry and raspberry flavors. The chain says there’s no limit to how often customers can enjoy Frosty Time. Customers can get an unlimited number of small $1 Frostys in any flavor from now through Sept. 15.
How to Get the $1 Frosty Deal
Wendy’s says customers can opt for the classic chocolate flavor or “savor the final days” of its limited-time Triple Berry Frosty until the fruit-packed frozen treat hits the long dusty trail this autumn. Whether it will be replaced by the chain’s Pumpkin Spice Frosty — which made its cardigan-wearing debut last year — is anyone’s guess.
“There’s some debate on how to enjoy a Frosty,” the chain writes in a press release, pointing out the fact that the treat’s category is somewhere between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream. “A spoon? Straw? With fries?”
According to a national survey conducted by the chain, 70% of Frosty fans use a spoon while Gen Z customers are the most likely to choose a french fry as their preferred utensil.
Earning Rewards Points
Wendy’s also says that its in-app rewards system will net customers 10 points for every $1 spent. Those points can be traded in on their own for free treats or combined with other eligible rewards and offers.
How to Use the Honey Buddy Deal
Wendy's is also offering the Honey Buddy, formerly known as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, for $1 until September 30. This isn’t the only dollar deal at the fast food joint. Wendy’s is offering $1 Honey Buddys — the new name for Wendy’s Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit — until Sept. 30. The discounted fried chicken and maple honey butter biscuit sandwich is marketed as a Monday morning pick-me-up, but the deal is actually available any day of the week. It's just limited to one per week. For example, if you use the offer on a Thursday, you can’t redeem another $1 sandwich until the following Thursday. Customers can purchase the $1 Honey Buddy by selecting the “$1 breakfast sandwich with any purchase” deal from the “offers” tab before adding a Honey Buddy and another item in their cart. The deal can be used during breakfast hours for mobile orders or in-person by scanning the in-app offer.
Other Fast-Food Deals
Wendy's is not the only fast-food chain slashing prices and offering value meal deals. McDonald's announced a $5 Meal Deal in June, including a McDouble or McChicken, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, small fries and a small soft drink. The deal was expected to last around a month, but it has been extended at select locations. One of their biggest competitors, Burger King, launched a $5 Your Way Meal earlier that month. The value meal includes a choice of a Whopper Jr., Bacon Cheeseburger or Chicken Jr., fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a soft drink. The deal is expected to last for several months. KFC is running a promotion called Taste of KFC Deals. One of the deals under the promotion is two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and a biscuit for $4.99. Customers can also get a bucket of eight pieces of chicken for $10 on Tuesdays. The deals will run through the end of the year.
Wendy's: A History of Frosty Deals
Wendy's has been offering Frosty deals for many years. In 2022, the chain offered a limited-time offer for a free Frosty with the purchase of any Chicken Sandwich. The chain has also offered other discounts on Frostys, such as a $1 Frosty with any purchase or a free Frosty with the purchase of a large drink.
Wendy's: A History of Frosty Flavors
Wendy's has also been experimenting with new Frosty flavors over the years. In addition to the classic chocolate flavor, the chain has offered a variety of seasonal flavors, such as pumpkin spice, peppermint, and vanilla. The chain also offered a limited-edition orange cream flavor in 2018.
Conclusion: The Future of the Frosty
Wendy’s has not yet revealed which kind of Frosty will follow Triple Berry. In previous years, the Ohio-based chain has offered seasonally appropriate Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint flavors, along with an always-classic Vanilla Frosty. If past releases are anything to go by, the next flavor may roll out in September, but that’s a lot of $1 Frostys from now. What will be Wendy’s next Frosty flavor? Only time will tell.
If you’re looking for a sweet treat this summer, be sure to head to Wendy’s and take advantage of this limited-time offer.
