Xbox is releasing new content this week. This Thursday, September 26, you can catch the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 Broadcast, which will feature announcements from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment and Bethesda. The broadcast will also feature new games from Xbox's third-party retailers — primarily those based in Asia. Last year's show included a list of new titles coming to Game Pass and first looks at a few games.

The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 Broadcast will be available to watch on Tokyo Game Show's YouTube channel in Japanese, English and a range of other languages. It will also offer audio descriptions in both languages and Japanese and American Sign Language. You might have to wake up pretty early for it, though, as the broadcast airs at 7PM JST, which is 6AM ET or 3AM PT. Anyone based in the UK can catch it at a more reasonable 11AM.

Xbox has announced that it will be doing another TGS broadcast this year focusing on content from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard And Bethesda. This upcoming event is expected to have updates on upcoming titles from Xbox and its partners, causing fans to speculate about what could be shown.

Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2024 event will be streamed live on September 26, and gamers may want to mark this date as the stream could bring some notable announcements. After Head of Xbox Phil Spencer reminded gamers to tune into the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 stream on September 26, The Verge's Tom Warren tweeted that the show would be "worth tuning into" next week. Warren's remark about Xbox's upcoming broadcast implies that Xbox will make some major announcements that fans will not want to miss. The tweet gained hundreds of thousands of views on Twitter, with the Xbox community heavily speculating about what Warren may know about the show ahead of the September 26 date. Some gamers theorize that Final Fantasy 16 could be coming to Xbox Series X|S, while others are hopeful that Xbox's upcoming slate of games for 2025 and beyond will be highlighted.

It was previously confirmed on September 5 that Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast will feature content from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda. The broadcast will "also showcase an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan and across Asia," with Xbox Game Pass announcements to be made as well. The excerpt about Japanese third-party partners may be the reason why some believe Final Fantasy 16 for Xbox Series X|S could be announced at the Tokyo Game Show, but it's unknown which third parties will be presenting games during the show.

November 2024 will mark the fourth anniversary of Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox gamers are looking forward to what the company will bring for the holiday season. It will be a notable quarter for Xbox with the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on December 6, which is a day one title on Xbox Game Pass. However, some of Xbox's most anticipated games won't be coming to market in 2024 anymore, such as Obsidian's delayed action RPG Avowed. Despite Xbox's strong showing at its Games Showcase earlier this summer, gamers still want to receive more updates on its upcoming slate of titles. At the very least, Xbox will reveal Game Pass titles for October and possibly November to give fans some clarity heading into the holiday season.

Before the show begins, leaks suggest that Xbox will reveal a new controller on September 24, so this upcoming week could prove to be an eventful one for Xbox fans. Microsoft's ninth-generation console, the Xbox Series X is a powerful machine that can support 4K resolution and 60 fps, depending on the game. Released alongside the Xbox Series S, the Series X has a Custom AMD Zen 2 CPU, a Custom RDNA 2 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM.

What is the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast?

In a video uploaded by Xbox, Spencer invites fans from all over the world to attend the Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast, either in-person or online, on September 26 at 6am EST / 3am Pacific / 11am UK / 7pm JST. At this point, there are no announcements regarding the length of the livestream or what will be showcased, but hopefully, more details will surface as show time draws near. Those wishing to be a part of the fun can tune into either the Tokyo Game Show's official YouTube channel or Xbox's social channels.

What to Expect from the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast

Though currently, fans have no idea what to expect in terms of length and content, there will be updates from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios during the show. According to Phil Spencer, there will be a few more surprises in store for fans to enjoy, as he states: "We’ll also showcase an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan and across Asia, including games coming to Xbox Game Pass."

While there are not many concrete details on the titles being shown, fans can likely expect something from the major titles that Microsoft and Xbox have been announcing left and right. During previous Tokyo Game Show broadcasts, the details on upcoming games are abundant, but usually, there is nothing major announced, which means this probably won't be where the rumored Xbox handheld could be revealed. With that said, some standout titles will most likely find their way onto the show this year.

What Games Will Be Showcased?

Here's everything to know about what the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will include, from returning classic features to major new changes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated games coming soon, and there should be at least a few key details revealed during the show. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release in December, and if the show goes as most have in the past, there will be details emerging about the development process and progress for Indie as well. Bethesda's next big release is the Starfield Shattered Space DLC, set to release on September 30. While lots of key details on the DLC have already been revealed - including its trophies and achievements - it's likely fans will see more of the game at TGS. If not, then the third-party titles from Japanese and Asian developers confirmed by Spencer should provide more than enough to look forward to from Xbox at Tokyo Game Show this year.

Xbox is Keeping Fans Guessing

Although there are a number of possible games that will make an appearance at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast, there are some gamers who are speculating on other possible announcements. A new sales report suggests that the PlayStation 5 is outselling Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S consoles by an even larger margin than some thought. This could lead to some sort of announcement to help bolster Xbox sales, perhaps revealing a new game that is designed to bring back some of the older Xbox gamers.

As the big day draws near, Xbox has left plenty of room for speculation and surprise. Whether it is a reveal of a new game, a sneak peek of a long-awaited title or new details about previously announced games, the Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the surprises in store.
