No Second Season of 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Dampens Anthony Mackie's Excitement for 'Brave New World'
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Anthony Mackie expressed his disappointment that 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' did not get a second season. The actor, who plays Sam Wilson/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said he was looking forward to doing another season with Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo.
“I was actually excited to do a second season, just so me and Sebastian [Stan] can get paid to hang out,” Mackie said. “Because it's like me, him and Daniel Brühl. It's kind of like the perfect storm of happiness.”
Mackie explained that he enjoyed the camaraderie with his co-stars and found the show to be a lot of fun to make. “I really enjoyed doing that show,” he said. “It was a great experience, and I loved working with the cast and crew.”
However, Mackie's hopes for a second season were dashed when Marvel Studios decided to bring back his character in the upcoming film 'Captain America: Brave New World' instead.
“When they decided to go back to the movies, it is what it is, but I don’t have my friends anymore, so it kind of dampens it a little bit,” Mackie said.
Mackie Feels the Loss of His Co-Stars in 'Brave New World'
Mackie admitted that he will miss working with Stan and Brühl in 'Captain America: Brave New World.' He said that the three of them had a great chemistry on-screen and off, and that he will miss their friendship and support.
“I’m going to miss them a lot,” Mackie said. “They’re great actors and great friends, and I’ll always cherish the time we had together on the show.”
Mackie Is Excited for 'Brave New World' Despite the Loss of His Co-Stars
Despite his disappointment over the lack of a second season of 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,' Mackie said that he is still excited for 'Captain America: Brave New World.' He said that he is looking forward to working with the new cast and crew, and that he is confident that the film will be a success.
“I’m really excited for ‘Brave New World,’” Mackie said. “I think it’s going to be a great movie, and I can’t wait to see what the fans think of it.”
