It’s probably already your favorite flavor of the season—why not bring the warmth and comfort of apple crisp into your whole home?

If you feel like there's a "core" for each season, you're right: We've seen romcomcore take over in the spring, tomatocore in the summer, cowgirlcore during Beyonce's album rollout. And while pumpkin spice is probably one of the first things that comes to mind when considering the fall months, this autumn's (apple) core is taking a sweeter turn.

Google searches for apple crisp increased by 56% in the last week, and that's not out of nowhere. Apples have always been one of the most iconic attributes to fall, and the new range of Apple Crisp drinks at Starbucks has confirmed it as a favorite flavor. It smells amazing, tastes amazing, and the colors look amazing. What more could you want?

Since apple crisp is taking over the beverage and scent world, it only makes sense to lean into it for home decor too—you just have to channel the same warmth, comfort, coziness, and earthiness the treat brings.

The Colors of Apple Crisp Core

According to Cassandra Leisz, creative director of Ruggable, all you need to do to encapsulate apple crisp core is "focus on warm, inviting colors such as red, yellow, orange and deep brown." She also recommends adding soft textures like plushy cushions and cozy blankets—or even a couple of dried twigs, red and orange leaves, and pine cones from your yard to use as centerpieces or decoration on your mantel.

"In larger rooms with big floor space, adding a patterned rug in rich reds, browns or creams is a great way to transform the space with rustic charm and autumnal palettes," she says.

Lighting for a Warm Ambience

As for lighting, you want to go with a peaceful, autumnal glow—which you likely already gravitate toward in the fall. Add some warm ambiance with lamps, color-changing bulbs, candles galore, and a dimmer or two if you can (just stay away from big lights). Leisz also recommends draping warm, soft white fairy lights around your living room, dining area, or along a mantle for subtle lighting.

The Scent of Apple Crisp

Nothing evokes the feeling of apple crisp like the warm scent of apples, cinnamon, and vanilla. Cassandra suggests: "To complete the atmosphere in your home, you'll want to create the scent of apple crisp.

Look for scented candles, room sprays, diffusers, or potpourri with scents such as 'apple pie,' ‘mulled wine’ and 'cinnamon spice’ to create a deliciously fragrant atmosphere.

Place them throughout your home, especially in the living room and kitchen where traffic is high.

If you prefer to use a diffuser, mix apple, cinnamon and clove essential oils for a similar effect."

Welcome Guests with Apple Crisp Charm

The strand is all about apples, so why not hang a gorgeous apple wreath? Or, even better, have a go at making one yourself?

This can help make a cozy first impression, Cassandra explains.

She adds: "Welcome guests to your front door with a wreath of fake apples, cinnamon sticks and dried leaves.

You can even get the family involved in making it. This immediately sets a cosy tone at the entrance to your home.

Make sure you swap your summer doormat for one with an autumnal design of apples, leaves or a welcoming autumn message.

For an added touch, place some apples and pumpkins on the door display, this follows the trend and adds a natural element to your display."

Budget-Friendly Apple Crisp Decorating Ideas

CASSANDRA also shared some budget-friendly tips to add touches of the 'Apple Crisp' look into your home decor.

She says: "For a budget-friendly, natural touch, gather dried twigs, red and orange leaves, pine cones, and acorns from outdoors.

Scatter them on your mantelpiece, coffee table, or dining table to enhance the autumnal feel.

This is an easy way to embrace the changing season and give your home an autumnal makeover on a budget.

If you already have apples in your fruit bowl, to capture the trend, add these apples to your table decor on plates, garnished with cinnamon sticks.

This is a fun way to set the table and a perfect healthy snack!"

Apple Crisp Core is More Than Just a Trend

No matter how you plan to lean into the warmth of apple crisp core, just know the fruit is more than just a sweet snack this season. It's warm and cosy - just like a fresh apple pie...

For years 'Pumpkin Spice' has been the top autumn trend - from the spiced lattes to mouthwatering candles, it's long been the favourite seasonal flavour.

But that's all about to change with a new mouthwatering scent ready to take the spotlight.

It's all about 'Apple Crisp' this autumn - and it's influencing everything from fashion to home decor.

From the warm colour palette to the comforting scent, Apple Crisp is coming to life this season.

While Pumpkin Spice is a rich spicy blend of ginger, orange, cardamom and pumpkin, Apple Crisp is sweeter and fruitier with muskier tones and smells like apples, cinnamon and vanilla.

Luckily, one expert is on hand to share their top tips on how to bring its cosy vibe into our homes to give it some autumn charm.

Cassandra Leisz, Creative Director of innovative interiors brand Ruggable, said it's all about warmth, comfort and earthy tones.

To bring that into your home Cassandra says: "To capture the essence of freshly baked apple crisps, focus on warm, inviting colors such as red, yellow, orange and deep brown.

You can do this by introducing plush, textured throws and cushions to add both visual and physical comfort to your living space.

Perfect for cosy autumn days that can be changed seasonally.

“In larger rooms with big floor space, adding a patterned rug in rich reds, browns or creams.

It is a great way to transform the space with rustic charm and autumnal palettes.”

Another way to do it is by adding warm lighting to your house.

She says: "Warm lighting is essential for an autumnal glow.

You can achieve this by adding a few candles to your table display to create a rustic, warm ambience.

For maximum effect, opt for scented taper or tea candles in a cider or mulled scent.

Or, for longer lasting ambience, drape warm, soft white fairy lights around your living room, dining area or along the mantle for subtle lighting."

The Essence of Apple Crisp Core

Move over pumpkin spice, apple crisp is the new kid on the block. After Starbucks released its autumnal drinks menu last month, Apple Crisp was the one to capture fans' attention. Described as tasting like warm, apple pie, reviews of the apple crisp macchiato soon went viral - #applecrisp racking up almost 200,000 hashtags on Instagram alone.

In just the last week searches for ‘apple crisp’ were up by 56% on Google. So it’s no surprise that apple crisp has found itself in our homes, too. If you're a little baffled by the trend let me quickly translate the term apple crisp, it is essentially the american version of apple crumble, and nothing says cosy like a bowl of apple crumble.

So forget the pumpkin spice aesthetic apple crisp is the new inspiration for your autumn decorating ideas.

It’s true that with every season or trend cycle, we seem to have a new ‘core’. Amalficore had us reaching for terracotta and lemon print, Aperol in hand, while cowboycore was all about that rustic appeal.

It may sound tiring to keep up with - but this is what makes Apple Crisp Core different. It’s cosy, warm and most importantly, simple. It hones in on the staples of cosy living room ideas or cosy bedroom ideas, meaning crisp autumnal colours and lots of texture.

‘For me the warm and earthy colours like red, yellow, orange, and deep brown that make Apple Crisp such an inviting trend for interiors,’ says Whinnie Williams, Interiors Expert at Dreams.

‘These shades showcase the cosiness of the Autumn season, mirroring the vibrant hues of autumn leaves.

‘The rich, natural tones create a sense of comfort in any space, making it feel instantly welcoming. I have a deep brown colour in my patterned bedroom wallpaper which really infuses the space with a sense of warmth and balances perfectly with the more neutral tones of my cream bed frame.’

‘You should start by introducing rich, autumnal colours which can be added in home accessories such as throws, pillows, plant pots, vases or blankets,’ says Whinnie. ‘Think of the natural tones of apples, cinnamon and caramel as your guide.'

‘Layering textures is also key to achieving the rustic feel in Autumn - chunky knit blankets and cushions on the bed or sofa can help create that warm finish,' she adds.

Also don't forget that apple autumnal scent, it's perfect for those who aren't sold on the sweetness of pumpkin spice and want something a little...crisper.

‘Naturally scented candles or diffusers with fragrances of apple, cinnamon, and vanilla can also create a warm, autumnal atmosphere,’ Whinnie adds.

Drape your sofa with this cosy tassled throw by La Redoute. The warm brown tones perfectly capture the warm of the Apple Crisp Core trend. A sure way to add warmth to your bedroom or living room.

This spiced apple scent is the perfect departure from the classic pumpkin spice scent that will still give you home that cosy autumnal smell.

The sleek lamp will bring added light and warmth to a room. we love the sleek and stylish design - proving cosy can have an added bit of glamour.
