“Cinderella at 2AM” has achieved a surprising success overseas in a short period of time! According to global OTT (over-the-top) platform Rakuten Viki, the rom-com drama “Cinderella at 2AM” starring Shin Hyun Been and Moon Sang Min placed No. 1 in viewership in a total of 122 countries including the United States, Brazil, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, and Australia during its first week of broadcast, marking a spectacular debut.
“Cinderella at 2AM” is a romantic comedy starring Shin Hyun Been as Ha Yun Seo, a woman who doesn’t believe in fairy tale endings, and Moon Sang Min as Seo Ju Won, the chaebol heir who tries to change her mind.
The Story Unfolds: Cinderella at 2AM Episode 3 & 4 Recap
The third episode of Cinderella at 2AM premiered on August 31, and the fourth episode was aired on September 1, both at 9:00 PM KST. The latest romantic comedy-drama is broadcast on the COUPANG PLAY network and can be streamed on the Viki app. Cinderella at 2AM stars Shin Hyun-been and Moon Sang-min in the main roles, along with a supporting cast.
In the preceding episodes, it was depicted that the female lead character, Ha Yun-seo (portrayed by Shin Hyun-been), receives payment from the male lead character's mother in exchange for ending their relationship. Subsequently, Seo Ju-won (portrayed by Moon Sang-min) made diligent attempts to get Yun-seo's presence back in his life.
Episode 3: A Tumultuous Night and Awkward Mornings
Episode 3 of Cinderella at 2AM starts with a flashback where Seo Ju-won arrives at the airport. He returned to Korea from abroad, and his elder brother, Seo Si-won, came to pick him up. While in the airport, Ju-won overheard some people gossiping over Si-won's social media post, where he uploaded his drunk picture online.
Ju-won came out and sat in the car, and the two brothers discussed Ju-won’s joining the office. Ju-won said he would refrain from disclosing his real identity as the youngest son of AL Group in the office.
Then we see Ju-won’s glimpses as the new joiner in the office. Initially, he was being mistreated by some of his colleagues, but Yun-seo had always been good to him. She also told him not to quit his job and appreciated his work. This is when he started falling for her.
Coming back to the present, Yun-seo and Ju-won are both drunk and are about to kiss each other; suddenly, the former pushes away the latter. Drunk Ju-won starts to blame Yun-seo and says that she took money from his mother and then left him. Listening to this, people around them badmouth Yun-seo.
The next morning, Ju-won wakes up, and Si-won comes to see him. He remembers what happened last night and feels bad about it. Yun-seo also seems upset about the same. She thinks that even though she tries hard to push Ju-won away, he still likes her a lot.
Following the last night’s incident, she decides not to drink anymore. Yun-seo and Ju-won reach the office and feel awkward facing each other. After some time, they apologized for their bad behavior the previous night.
Episode 4: A Love Triangle Emerges
The fourth episode of Cinderella at 2AM starts with Ju-won and Yun-seo at the amusement park. Then, they go home, and the next morning, Yun-seo and Ju-won reach the office. Yun-seo receives unusual messages from an unknown number. Yun-seo feels that those messages are being sent by Seo Ju-won, therefore, she confronts him. Ju-won proves to her that he isn’t behind these messages.
After work, Yun-seo leaves her office and goes to her friend’s restaurant. Her friend, Yi-rae, gives a call to that unknown number. An unknown person on the other side answers the call and asks if it is Kang Jae-hee’s phone. Yun-seo tells the man that it is her number and hangs up on him. The man on the other side weirdly smirks.
Ji-suk, Yun-seo’s younger brother, comes to pick her up from the restaurant. They both leave and on their way back home, Yun-seo tells Ji-suk to take a collegiate exam and be careful in the future for the mistake he made in school. As they reach their home, Ju-won is seen standing near their gate.
Following this, Ji-suk leaves them alone, and out of curiosity, Ju-won asks Yun-seo about the messages she receives from the unknown number. Yun-seo tells Ju-won that they should not make things awkward for themselves at the office and just focus on their work.
The next day, Ju-won and Yun-seo meet at the office, where the former tries to avoid the latter. They decide to prepare for the Yeoran Stay launch. When other teammates ask Ju-won to join them on their way to the launch, he refuses and says he will take his own car.
At home, while packing for the Yeoran Stay launch business trip, Yun-seo again receives messages from the stranger’s number. She calls him up and asks him to stop, but it looks like the stranger tries to flirt with her.
In the next scene, Yun-seo joins her teammates and leaves for a business trip in their car. Something goes wrong, and the car stops moving on the way. One of the teammates calls Ju-won, and he arrives at the location for help.
While heading to their destination, a few instances happen between Ju-won and Yun-seo that make other teammates suspicious of their relationship. Ju-won refers to Yun-seo as ‘honey’ in front of his team.
Finally, they reach their location, and Ju-won inaugurates the Yeoran Stay. When she sees some people badmouthing him, Yun-seo takes a stand for Ju-won. Then, she recalls all of Ju-won’s efforts during his time as a junior employee in the team. In her flashback, Yun-seo also discussed her decision to quit her job with her friend Yi-rae.
Meanwhile, Seo Si-won is shown, and his bitter relationship with his wife is emphasized in this episode. They rarely talk and spend time together. His wife tells him that she has been transferred to Korea headquarters, and she will be living with him under one roof.
In another scene, Yun-seo informs Ju-won that she is planning to leave the company. She tells him that she has wrapped up the important project and wants to quit. Ju-won rushes to his house and meets his mother, Si-won, and sister-in-law. He requests his mother to send him abroad, but she tells him it’s too late now as he refused to go earlier.
Ju-won presses his mother and says that she cannot decide this without asking him. She replies that it is a company matter, therefore, she doesn’t need to ask him. Ju-won requests that she think about him as a mother and not as the chairwoman of the company.
Angry Ju-won leaves the house and goes to Yun-seo’s place. He enters her house and hugs her. Yun-seo's teammates and her brother see them hugging, and episode 4 of Cinderella at 2AM ends here.
