Eamonn Holmes, the GB News presenter, appears to be moving on following his unexpected split from Ruth Langsford, as he's now in a budding romance. The former This Morning duo Ruth and Eamonn confirmed their parting ways earlier in May.
Despite the break-up, 64 year old Eamonn was quick to find love once again, with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, becoming an important figure in his life. The couple recently indulged in a romantic cruise around the Mediterranean to soak up the remaining summer warmth.
Eamonn and his new love interest Katie seem to be taking things seriously, with plans reportedly underway to cohabit. Those close to them reveal that Katie has expressed being head over heels for Eamonn – she even has an affectionate nickname for him – and after a nine-year acquaintance, it appears they're both in for the long term.
"Katie is telling everyone that she's totally smitten and in love. They've known each other for nine years, so this isn't a fly-by-night relationship - she's in it for the long haul. They're now looking at places to move in together, as they want a lot more space," an insider divulged to Heat magazine.
An insider has revealed that the couple is considering a significant change by potentially moving away from London to Eamonn's hometown of Belfast. Katie is said to be convinced that Eamonn is her 'soulmate' and is fully prepared 'to love and care for him' amidst his ongoing health issues.
"Eamonn is her man, and she's there to look after him," the source disclosed.
Katie's Soulmate: Eamonn's Plans for the Future
He may have only split from wife Ruth Langsford four months ago, but Eamonn Holmes has already shocked fans after PDA-filled pics emerged of his romantic getaway with new flame Katie Alexander. And while they may seem an unlikely match, our sources say the couple are in it for the long haul.
Eamonn, 64, and relationship counsellor Katie, 43, enjoyed some quality time while on a luxury Mediterranean cruise last week, with one cosy snap showing the former This Morning presenter grabbing Katie’s bum. And now, we’re told that the couple are ready to prove this is far more than a fling. Our source says, ‘Katie is telling everyone she is totally smitten and in love. They’ve known each other for nine years, so this isn’t a fly-by-night relationship – she’s in it for the long haul. They’re now looking at places to move into together, as they want a lot more space.’
Eamonn and Katie were first linked earlier this year, just weeks after the TV presenter confirmed his split from Ruth, also 64. It was said Eamonn has known Katie, who is 22 years his junior, for several years after meeting online – only developing a ‘closer relationship’ following his break-up.
As rumours swirled that Katie was supporting Eamonn through his heartbreak, her ex-husband George, 53, opened up about his 2022 divorce from the relationship counsellor. Explaining that she initially met Eamonn while still married, he explained, ‘She was not swooning over him like he was George Clooney, but she liked being on social media and one day, she said she’d had a reply from him.’ Adding that he had ‘a lot of sympathy’ for Ruth, George shared, ‘Katie has a heart, so she will feel bad about Ruth.’
And now, our source says mum-of-three Katie is willing to pack up and move country if it means keeping her romance with Eamonn on track. Revealing that the pair are already planning to live together, the source says, ‘The dream is for them to end up in Eamonn’s hometown of Belfast. Katie was there with his family a few weeks ago, and she reassured them she’s in it for keeps. She says Eamonn is her soulmate and true love, and she wants to love and care for him – especially as he’s in such a bad way with his legs and back, and can’t walk properly without assistance.’
Ruth's Reaction: Eamonn's New Love Interest
In contrast, Loose Women presenter Ruth, also 64, has reportedly been taken aback by Eamonn's new romantic involvement. A source earlier this month shared: "She's just trying to get on with life and be around good friends, she's partying through the pain and is trying to get through it. Ruth is distracting herself and doing things that make her happy keeping busy and being around friends, family and work is the only way she can get through it."
This news follows an incident where Ruth is said to have gotten back at her estranged husband Eamonn after he requested to visit their previous marital residence to pick up holiday attire for a cruise with Katie. Although Eamonn had arranged a seven-night Mediterranean cruise with his significantly younger girlfriend, he needed some clothes for the trip.
Ruth agreed to his request but failed to mention that she had removed the £2,000 stairlift, which posed a challenge for the wheelchair-bound TV host to navigate the curved staircase in their former £3.5 million Weybridge home in Surrey.
At the time, Ruth was not present at the property. However, a source told the Daily Mail: "Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way. She has had a lot of support from her friends. But one thing she would see every day was the stairlift which Eamonn installed. " They continued: "Ruth doesn't need it. She's super-fit and healthy but she knew Eamonn probably would struggle when he had to go the house to get some bits he needed for the holiday. The bedrooms are upstairs and he needed to get to them. It might seem petty but Ruth's friends think it is absolutely hilarious as they think he has really taken her for a ride."
Eamonn's New Life: A Romantic Holiday Cruise
Eamonn Holmes is believed to be planning more luxury holidays with new girlfriend Katie Alexander following a romantic freebie cruise around the Mediterranean.
The former This Morning host, 64, and relationship counsellor Katie, 42, confirmed they were dating shortly after his separation from wife Ruth Langsford was confirmed in May.
And Eamonn has been discussing his future plans with GBNews colleagues, according to The Sun.
One employee told the publication: 'Eamonn's lined up lots more cruises with Katie for the near future- it's become something they're both really looking forward to.'
They added: 'It became a bit of a sticking point between them as Eamonn has always had a passion for exploring new places.
The former This Morning host, 64, who shocked the nation when him and ex Ruth Langsford went their separate ways, and his counsellor girlfriend, 42, confirmed that they were dating just a few weeks back
'Now, with Katie, Eamonn feels he can really embrace that side of life again. He's eager to make up for the years he felt he missed out on.'
They then revealed that Eamonn allegedly used to say Ruth did not like to travel and didn't enjoy travelling on a boat or a plane.
A New Beginning for Eamonn and Katie
Eamonn Holmes has reportedly planned more romantic getaways with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander just weeks after they returned from their luxury cruise.
Eamonn, 64, and Katie, 42, made headlines earlier this month when they were seen heading off to the luxury cruise with Eamonn in his electric wheelchair at Heathrow Airport alongside Katie. From there they jetted to Barcelona to board Virgin Voyager’s luxurious Scarlet Lady.
Now reports suggest that Eamonn has made no secret of his plans to jet set more with Katie having allegedly told many of his GB News colleagues about their plans. One said: "Eamonn's lined up lots more cruises with Katie for the near future. It’s become something they're both really looking forward to."
They continued to The Sun: "Katie absolutely loves cruises and Eamonn used to say that Ruth was never one for travel. She didn’t enjoy going away and never liked going on a boat or a plane. It became a bit of a sticking point between them as Eamonn has always had a passion for exploring new places.
"Now, with Katie, Eamonn feels he can really embrace that side of life again. He’s eager to make up for the years he felt he missed out on." GB News presenter Eamonn appears to be fully investing in his blossoming relationship, as he and his partner Katie are also believed to be set to move in together.
And it seems that he and marriage counsellor Katie are completely comfortable around one another, as Katie's nickname for Eamonn has been unveiled as she continues to be 'completely smitten'. "Katie is telling everyone that she's totally smitten and in love. They've known each other for nine years, so this isn't a fly-by-night relationship - she's in it for the long haul. They're now looking at places to move in together, as they want a lot more space," a source told Heat magazine.
A New Chapter for Eamonn and Katie
And while Eamonn is moving on when it comes to his love life, Ruth has been enjoying plenty of nights out on the town as she embraces her new single status. Letting her hair down, the star was recently spotted being supported by her close pal Rylan Clark, 35, as they sipped on cocktails during a night out. It came as reports surfaced Ruth has hired a ‘fierce divorce lawyer’ in preparation for her separation from Eamonn, which will see the couple split their £5million net worth. Ruth’s co-star Coleen Nolan recently praised her friend, saying, ‘I’ve never met someone who has handled something with so much dignity and pride. She’s just such a lady, more of a lady then I’ll ever be.’
But despite Eamonn and Ruth’s split garnering plenty of attention, Katie isn’t paying any notice. Although their age gap romance has raised plenty of eyebrows, we’re told Katie’s blocking out the hate and focusing on her new man. We’re told, ‘She doesn’t care what people say – she says age is just a number. Eamonn’s her man, and she’s there to look after him.’
