Things are heating up for Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) in EastEnders, as the estranged couple share a passionate kiss.
They have maintained a relationship, however, with Jack stepping up to help Denise and the rest of The Six after finding out about their involvement in Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.
Denise has also supported Jack and step-daughter Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) after the club crush back in August, in which Amy was seriously injured.
On Wednesday, Jack is still at loggerheads with his other daughter – club manager Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) – holding her responsible for the incident at Peggy’s.
Denise makes it her mission to try and fix their relationship, knowing that it was actually her daughter Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) who inadvertently caused the crush when she tampered with the club’s online booking system as revenge for Penny stealing her job.
After the family comes together to celebrate Denzel Danes’ (Jaden Ladega) 16th birthday, Jack and Denise have a moment alone back at the Branning house.
He tells her how grateful he is for everything she’s done for their family and gives a moving speech about how amazing she is. Passion then quickly ensues as they end up locking lips.
However, quite what the future holds for them remains to be seen, as next week the truth about the crush is exposed – including Denise covering for Chelsea. Will Jack be able to forgive her?
Elsewhere in Walford on Wednesday, things get tense in The Vic when Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) current lover comes face-to-face with her former flame.
Earlier this week, Cindy was reunited with David Wicks (Michael French) 27 years after their steamy affair, after he made a return to Walford to visit daughter Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).
With Cindy currently having an affair with former stepson Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) behind partner Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) back, there are awkward scenes ahead when David and Junior cross paths…
EastEnders airs on Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC One, and from 6am on iPlayer.
