This Labor Day weekend, Gloucester, Massachusetts will be abuzz with activity as the 40th annual Gloucester Schooner Festival sets sail. Later in the afternoon, the Mayor’s Races for the Esperanto Cup & the Columbia Trophy take place off Eastern Point, offering a thrilling competition between the participating schooners. The evening culminates with the Boat Parade of Lights and a spectacular fireworks display over Gloucester Harbor, illuminating the night sky with vibrant colors.

Sunday, September 1st, features a captivating Heritage Day at Maritime Gloucester, with special events such as $20 hourly sails on schooner Ardelle, deck tours, crafts, nautical demonstrations, family activities, exhibits, an aquarium, and food trucks. The day concludes with a final celebration of the Schooner Festival with live music and a light show on Stacy Boulevard.
