Live updates, analysis and reaction from the King Power Stadium as Leicester City take on bottom of the table Everton hoping for their first win back in the Premier League

September is too early for a game to be billed as a six-pointer, but a home game against another expected relegation battler certainly represents the biggest match of Leicester City's season so far.

City host Everton on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off), with both sides looking for their first wins of the league season. Both came close last weekend, with City conceding in the 90th minute to draw at Crystal Palace and Everton throwing away a 2-0 lead for the second straight match to lose at Aston Villa.

In fact, the Toffees have lost all four of their fixtures so far to sit bottom of the standings. If City can beat them, they'll go five points ahead. Lose, and Sean Dyche's side overtake them.

We are live at the King Power Stadium to bring you updates, analysis, and reaction. Kick-off is at 3pm with team news due at 1.45pm.

Team News

Bilal El Khannouss has been handed his first Leicester City start against Everton with the attacking midfielder coming in as Steve Cooper’s sole change.

El Khannouss, who made his debut three weeks ago against Aston Villa but was an unused substitute against Crystal Palace, will play behind striker Jamie Vardy as City look to beat the bottom-of-the-table Toffees and claim their first win. Oli Skipp is the man to drop out.

It means that Wilfred Ndidi keeps his place in the team after his pair of assists at Selhurst Park, but he will drop into defensive midfield alongside Harry Winks. Skipp is on the bench with potential debutant Odsonne Edouard.

City (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Winks; Ayew, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy. Subs: Ward, Ricardo, Coady, Choudhury, Skipp, Buonanotte, De Cordova-Reid, Fatawu, Edouard.

Garner, Tarkowski, and Calvert-Lewin were doubts ahead of kick-off but are all fit to start for the visitors.

First Half

The two teams have emerged from the tunnel just as the sun has gone in here at the King Power Stadium. Are the clouds gathering ahead of a stormy fixture?

We are up and running at the King Power. Everton get us going.

As last week, it's Justin who is the attacking full-back today for City today, with Kristiansen dropping in.

It comes from Everton as McNeil lofts a header goalwards from Young's cross. It's an easy take for Hermansen.

McNeil beats a couple of City players and finds Ndiaye, who escapes Okoli and crosses. Kristiansen is having to mark two men, and so leaves Lindstrom free for a volley from 10 yards out. He puts it wide.

That's a golden chance.

From it, City crowd the six-yard box with every attacking player in there. The delivery finds Ndidi, but he mistimes his header, shouldering the ball over the bar.

It's been Everton on top but City break through Ayew, who carries the ball half the length of the pitch and wins a corner.

The visitors take the lead. They have been far the more threatening side.

Young whips in a great pass to find Ndiaye, who has half a yard on Justin. The full-back can't catch up and Ndiaye jinks inside and shoots from 18 yards, his effort sneaking in off the post.

City have been better since the goal, and are seeing more of the ball in attacking areas, but without creating anything of note.

In fact, the next good chance falls to Everton. A crossfield ball finds Lindstrom, who plays it low to Calvert-Lewin. Okoli is tight to him to block the initial effort, but the ball comes back to Lindstrom, who fires in. Hermansen parries away.

There's been very little attacking play of note from City. You can see El Khannouss has an eye for a pass, but nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

That's not going to help City as they look to get the ball down and play a little more, with Winks instructing his team-mates to stay calm in possession.

There was bright sunshine half-hour before kick-off, but we're not in the middle of a rainstorm.

The referee confirms it didn't cross the line.

The ball is bound to be slippy. It's time to test the keeper.

It goes from bad to worse for City. Vardy goes down and receives treatment on his ankle. It looks like he will be fine initially, but he's now heading to the touchline and Edouard is getting ready.

No, Vardy is coming back on for now. Let's see how he gets on.

These really are some of the worst weather conditions a that City have ever played a game in. The rain is so intense that it's hard to see the pitch. Fans on the front few rows have headed indoors.

But play goes on and Everton remain the better team and Lindstrom has just fired over with Kristiansen not close enough to him.

A couple of cheap Everton fouls wind Dyche up to the point he complains and he receives a booking.

Three minutes added on. The thunderstorm is not subsiding.

But really, since the thunderstorm start around the half-hour mark, it's not really felt like a game of football. This maybe the heaviest downpour I've ever seen at a football match.

Boos greet the half-time whistle. It really hasn't been good from City.

Second Half

The rain had slowed during half-time but it's picked up again just as the whistle is blown. There was a very slight delay in kick-off for the second period, and referee Darren England did come out to test the bounce of the ball on the turf during the break. He seems satisfied the game can go on.

No changes for either side.

It's scrambled in!

Again it's a corner, with Okoli and Ndidi making nuisances of themselves from the initial delivery. The ball drops in the six-yard box and Mavididi is on to it, snatching a shot away on the spin, the ball bouncing into the ground and bouncing over McNeil on the line.

It's a well-worked corner from City, with Winks playing it low and Mavididi fooling his marker to get a cross in. He finds Okoli's head six yards out but the Italian can't keep it down. Huge chance!

Everton counter and Calvert-Lewin gets a strong shot away on the angle. Hermansen parries away.

City need to be creating these sorts of chances themselves. Still no sign of an equaliser here.

Everton work a throw-in and Lindstrom nicks the ball away from Faes to set up a two-on-one for the Toffees. He tries to square the ball to Ndiaye, but Justin slides in to block the pass. An important intervention.

The first sub of the day comes from City and that's El Khannouss's full debut over. Buonanotte on

That's better. Winks drives forward with the ball and City get numbers in the box. It's crossed to Ayew, who brings it down then hits the bouncing ball on the swivel. Just over.

Ndidi has just played a pass straight out of play, with Justin not looking, and the two of them, plus Hermansen, all have a go at each other. That's not a good sign.

It comes from a goal kick after Ndiaye shoots wide. Everton are still the better side.

The decision to bring off Mavididi gets booed. He's been City's best player this second half.

Fatawu on for four added minutes.

Kristiansen crosses, Edouard lays it off and Buoanotte connects cleanly, but it's blocked! That would have tested Pickford!

We have a change up front. Vardy goes off. Edouard comes on for his City debut. He has 10 minutes to make himself a hero.

Well, the game is certainly opening up. But City's centre-backs have done well to restrict the chances at one end, and while Mavididi has been a threat at the other, City haven't fashioned anything.

City fight back to claim a draw but their wait for a win goes on. Justin, Ayew, and Ndidi slump to the turf.

There's a few half-hearted boos at the whistle.

Reaction to come.

The Takeaway

Leicester City were unable to get their first win of the season as they drew with Everton at the King Power Stadium. The match was a tough watch as the weather conditions were difficult throughout. City looked better in the second half with Edouard coming on for his debut. The Foxes will look to their next game as they hope to finally get that elusive win.
