Outlander star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz series, has left fans in tears with his latest Instagram post as he marked a major milestone.

Outlander's leading man Sam Heughan, who portrays Jamie Fraser, has left his followers quite emotional with a recent Instagram post celebrating an impressive show milestone. The Starz series actor delighted his 4.3 million fans by sharing heartwarming photos with his fellow cast members to mark the completion of 100 episodes of the beloved historical fantasy drama.

Sam, aged 44, was accompanied by on-screen partner Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser, and other Outlander colleagues. The images featured Sam in full costume, slicing through a celebratory black Outlander cake with a sword.

The post also included a selfie of the main duo with the cake, and a detailed shot of the cake itself, which bore the inscription: "Outlander, 100 Episodes!"

He captioned the collection of photos: "100 episodes @outlander_starz !!! 1 more to go... Been an absolute honour these past 11 years, thankful for the journey, the character, our cast, our crew and our brilliant fans!" (sic)

Fans were quick to respond in the comments section, showering Sam with accolades and expressing their feelings about the announcement that there's just "one more to go", reports the Express.

One admirer commented: "I'm happy for this milestone (100 episodes) but sad that OL will end soon [crying emoji] Thanks you for these years and for being the best cast ever [heart emojis]." (sic)

Another added: "You are breathtaking and magnificent. Congratulations on the accomplishment and completion of this masterful work. However, it is sad to approach the epilogue."

A fan exclaimed: "Awesome cake guys! Can't believe it's been 100 episodes, congratulations to you all! Can't wait for [the rest] of season 7 and season 8, just can't believe it's nearly over! X [crying emoji]." (sic)

"THANK YOU TO YOU! ! ! I don't want you finish! [crying emoji] Thank you for everything!!!" another added enthusiastically alongside a flurry of heart emojis. Another chimed in: "I can't believe it's been 10 years, I am so going to miss watching once it's completely done [crying emojis]." (sic)

A further enthusiastic message stated: "Such an incredible milestone! Do you mean one more episode to go? You can celebrate 100 again when the episode airs."

As series 7, part 2 inches closer, Outlander devotees are brimming with anticipation at the prospect of seeing Jamie Fraser and Claire Fraser back on their screens.

Diana Gabaldon, the author behind the book series that inspired the show, has assured fans of a heart-wrenching yet ultimately satisfying conclusion to the series when it wraps up after its eighth season.

Following the closure of Lionsgate+ in the UK, new episodes of Outlander will be available on Starz and to stream on Prime Video channel MGM+ from Sunday, November 22. You must be an Amazon Prime member before you can sign up for MGM+.
