It's an unusual 8pm Sunday night showdown under the lights at Ibrox to round off the weekend action in the top flight.
The Scottish Premiership weekend action comes to an end this weekend in an unusual Sunday night under the lights clash at Ibrox.
Rangers play host to St Johnstone as they look to bounce back from their Europa League battering by Lyon at the same venue on Thursday night.
Philippe Clement and his troops went down 4-1 to the Ligue 1 outfit as they look to head into the international break on a high - but come up against a Saints side with a new man in charge after Simo Valakari was handed the top job in Perth.
The Light Blues will be desperate to keep the pressure up on the top two with both Celtic and Aberdeen leaving it late to maintain their 100 per cent records against Ross County and Hearts.
Both have now won seven out of seven and Clement and Co will need to bag a full complement of points tonight to reduce the gap back down to five ahead of the break in domestic action. St Johnstone are sitting 11th just two points off bottom spot but could leapfrog a host of rivals down the bottom end with a big upset in Govan.

It's a simple save for Sinclair in the Saints goal.
St Johnstone attempt to turn the Rangers defence with a ball in behind, but John Souttar is on hand to shield the ball from Kimpioka, drawing a foul from the Saints attacker.
It's a free-kick for Saints this time, as the combination of Tavernier and Raskin foul Kimpioka, but the delivery is over everybody and out for a Rangers goal kick.
Rangers win their first corner as Tavernier drives forward and floats a cross to the back post, but it's cut out by Essel before it reaches McCausland.
Still Rangers 0-0 St Johnstone.
It looked like it was just over the striker's head, but that's a major opportunity for Rangers, with 8 minutes on the clock.
Tavernier's Corner Kick Delivery
Tavernier swings the corner in towards the back post towards Cyriel Dessers, who springs his marker and gets a free header, but it goes over the bar.
There's a lovely backheel in there from Vaclav Cerny to release Diomande into the midfield but his pass forward for Dessers is out of the striker's reach and it filters through to Sinclair at the edge of his box.
The former Sunderland kid has got pace to burn and he's been a willing runner in this opening 13 minutes enough to suggest he will provide a threat to the Rangers backline.
Kimpioka's Threat
St Johnstone's returning forward is certainly pivotal to their attacking gameplan this evening as Benjamin Kimpioka is flagged offside as he chases down a searching pass in behind.
Nedim Bajrami looks set to receive a simple pass inside, but the Albanian is blocked off...by the REF as David Dickinson gets in the way, but Rangers retain possession and there's a half chance at the edge of the box for McCausland before his shot's blocked.
Rangers are looking a bit one-dimensional down the right, and when Tavernier goes into the centre of midfield, as is the modern way with full-backs, Cerny has been all about coming inside on his favoured left-foot, with Diomande also favouring that approach when goes out to offer support.
The effort from Tavernier is deflected wide but no corner is forthcoming. There's a cheer from some sections of the stadium as the ball hit the stantion behind the goal and rebounded before rolling along the outside of the net, making it look like a goal, but it's not to be.
Still Rangers 0-0 St Johnstone.
It's a dangerous Rangers free-kick as Diomande is brought down by Sven Sprangler on the edge of the area.
Bajrami gets to the byline and sends a low cross in but it's beaten away by Sinclair, with the rebound falling for Diomande, who loses his footing at the vital moment.
Aaron Essel is into the book for Saints as he has a couple of goes at pulling back Ross McCausland.
Rangers have another corner after some neat work sees Bajrami thread it through to McCausland, his cross eventually finds Cerny and his effort is blocked behind.
Cyriel Dessers is furious from the corner kick delivery as he feels he was having his shirt pulled by Essel, but there's no check forthcoming and play continues, with the ball eventually falling to Tavernier at the edge of the box, but his effort is wide of the mark.
A Block from Jack Sanders
St Johnstone's defending has been pretty good to this point, and Jack Sanders does brilliantly again to get his block in as Cerny twists and turns before sending a low cross in that finds Diomande, but the midfielder has to turn to get his shot away and the Saints defender is there to block.
Rangers haven't quite found their attacking verve in this opening half-hour and Diomande is the latest to have a pop from distance, but it's not troubling Sinclair in the Saints goal and it drifts wide.
Still Rangers 0-0 St Johnstone, with just over half an hour played at Ibrox.
Tavernier has a free-kick, about 25 yards from goal, to the right of centre, and he elects to shoot instead of trying to find a team-mate, but it sails wide.
There's a half-chance for Rangers as Cerny gets his cross in to the back post, but it's just too high for Ross McCausland and it comes off the winger's head.
Cerny's Goal
Rangers hit the front and finally break St Johnstone's resolve, as Vaclav Cerny nutmegs his man to create the space, takes a stride forward and measures his shot into the far bottom corner, past the despairing dive of Sinclair.
Great finish from the Czech winger.
Rangers 1-0 St Johnstone.
Rangers are smelling blood here and are pressing and harrying all over their opponents as the combination of Diomande and Tavernier win the ball back before the former's cross is knocked behind for a corner.
Scotland boss Steve Clarke is in attendance for tonight's match, with John Souttar the only Rangers player in Scotland squad contention on the pitch.
There are just 60 seconds of additional time at Ibrox as Dessers chases a loose Saints ball, only for the keeper to just beat him to it.
Added Time
Rangers are looking to try and close out the half on the front foot, but their attack breaks down with Raskin giving the ball away before Kirk drives forward and hits an ambitious effort towards goal, but it blazes wide from the Saints man.
It's half-time at Ibrox and Rangers have the lead at the break, thanks to Vaclav Cerny's first goal in the famous old stadium, and what a well-taken one it was too.
Half-Time
Saints have defended valiantly for most of the half but they were powerless to resist as the Czech winger nutmegged his man before sending a good low effort into the corner.
Kimpioka has caused some minor irritation to the Rangers defence but most of the attacks have come from the home side.
Rangers 1-0 St Johnstone.
Second Half
It's a double switch for both sides as the second half kicks off.
Ianis Hagi and Connor Barron are on for Rangers in the second half, while Cammy MacPherson and Adama Sidibeh will come on for St Johnstone for the second half, replacing
Alan Hutton and Marvin Bartley were in agreement that Rangers should have had a penalty for the shirt pull on Dessers by Essel in the first half.
Hutton said:
It's not just a little grab, it's a full-on pull and I think he's a very lucky boy. The referee has a good view of it so I'm surprised that action wasn't taken.
While Bartley added:
Yeah, he's got away with one for me, as Alan said Dessers shirt is clearly pulled back, he impedes him, he stops him being able to go forward. Why it's not looked at if the referee does miss it, I think that's a penalty kick all day and Rangers will be upset with that decision.
