The pop superstar — who just performed three sold-out shows in Indianapolis — arrived Monday night to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce as his undefeated Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Swift, 34, arrived at Arrowhead Stadium about one hour before kick-off, with mom Andrea and younger brother Austin by her side. The Swifts all rocked Chiefs gear and waved at fans cheering for the pop star — who wore knee-high Christian Louboutin boots, black shorts and a Chiefs bomber jacket — upon her arrival.
The outing marks the first Chiefs game for Swift since Oct. 7, when she watched the reigning Super Bowl champions best the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead. Just over a week later, she resumed her Eras Tour in Miami, performing three nights at Hard Rock Stadium. She later played a trio of shows in New Orleans, and on Sunday, Nov. 3 wrapped the last of her three nights in Indianapolis. While on stage at Lucas Oil Stadium, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the star was wearing a red and gold manicure, possibly reflecting the Chiefs’ team colors of red, white and gold.
Kelce, the team’s star tight end, made a quick trip to Indianapolis to catch Swift’s second show in the city, and watched her performance from the VIP tent alongside Andrea Swift. The athlete, 35, was seen smiling and dancing alongside Swift’s mom as the star sang “So High School,” which is thought to be written about him and their relationship. Swift also made her usual lyric change to "Karma", singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” which she frequently does when Kelce is in attendance.
Kelce recently offered rare insight into his relationship with Swift on an episode of his New Heights podcast that featured his Grotesquerie costar Niecy Nash-Betts. After the actress said she’d been bombarded with questions about Kelce and Swift’s relationship, he thanked her for helping him maintain his privacy.
“I appreciate you always. And every time someone that has a mic in front of you, [they] always ask you something like that,” he said. “Thank you for always showing love. You know it's real, and you know that me and Tay are absolutely happy. And I appreciate you always making sure that everybody knows that. So thank you.”
Swift had spent the month of September and the early weeks of October on a brief pause from the show, which she will continue in Toronto on Nov. 14. On Dec. 8, the Grammy winner will play her final Eras Tour date after nearly 150 shows.
Swift was rumored to be with Harris at her rally in Pennsylvania on the night before Election Day, but video of Swift entering the stadium made its way to social media.
Swift was spotted wearing a black Chiefs jacket as she was escorted to her seat.
Many of Swift’s A-list peers who support Harris in this year’s presidential election have made appearances at various rallies, including various performers like Lady Gaga, Christian Aguilera, Usher, Eminem and Beyoncé.
However, despite publicly endorsing Harris, Swift is choosing to watch her tight end star boyfriend compete instead of showing out like the others.
With a clear schedule and being from a Philadelphia suburb, many believed the stars aligned for Swift to show up. Instead, it’ll be another prime-time NFL matchup where she’ll root for the Chiefs to remain undefeated on the season.
Swift made her choice of president in September with a social media post after Donald Trump’s and Harris’ presidential debate.
“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” she captioned her post. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”
Swift said her belief was Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
Meanwhile, this caused a stir in Chiefs Kingdom as Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and a friend of Swift, first indicated her support for Trump on Aug. 13 after liking Trump’s Instagram post, which was the “2024 GOP platform.”
Also, Mahomes’ mother, Randi, was spotted wearing a “Make America Great Again” at the Chiefs game Monday night.
The Chiefs are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night, looking to start 8-0 on the season.
Swift's arrival in a black outfit and Chiefs coat Monday night came on the eve of the presidential election, in which the 14-time Grammy winner has thrown her support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
That created a stir when Harris' rival, Donald Trump, began to reference Swift's friend and quarterback Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany, as a supporter of his campaign.
Patrick Mahomes has declined to endorse anyone in the election, instead urging people to register to vote.
After several weeks away, Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs' matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.” The appearance comes a day after her final “Eras Tour” performance in the United States, at the Indianapolis Colts' Lucas Oil Stadium. She will be back on stage in 10 days in Toronto to conclude the concert tour, but not before supporting her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Swift represented the home team by donning a black leather jacket with Kansas City's logo on the back. The pop star has not attended a Kansas City game since the Week 5 “Monday Night Football” matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Kelce had nine receptions for 70 yards during that outing, which is his third-highest receiving yards in a game this season. In the three games Swift has attended this season, Kelce has averaged four receptions and 36 receiving yards with no touchdowns.
Tons of A-listers are throwing their support behind Kamala Harris in the final hours before Election Day. Oprah and Lady Gaga will be at a rally in Philadelphia, Christina Aguilera is performing at a rally in Las Vegas, and for better or worse, Katy Perry will (probably) be performing “Woman’s World” in Pittsburgh. Usher, Eminem, and Bruce Springsteen have all shown up at rallies across the country in recent weeks, and of course, Beyoncé graced the crowd with her presence at a recent Harris rally in Houston. That’s all great — but where is Taylor Swift?
The stars have aligned in a way where a Swift appearance the day before the election would make perfect sense. She played her final U.S. show of the Eras Tour last night in Indianapolis and has an open schedule until she performs in Toronto on November 14. Despite the twang on her early albums, Swift was raised in a Philadelphia suburb, giving her ties to one of the most important states in the election. If anyone could sway the white women of Bucks County to vote for Harris, it’s Swift. There’s no doubt in my mind that the Harris campaign tried their damndest to get her there, too.
However, it appears that Swift will not be making a last-minute appearance in support of the vice-president. The rally slates have been announced, and there aren’t even rumblings of a Swift appearance. The Daily Mail posits that this “snub” is due to the fact that Travis Kelce has a football game on Monday night and that Swift is choosing romance over country. Did y’all think she was joking when she called that album Lover?
Swift has already endorsed Harris — and you never know, maybe she’ll show up at Arrowhead Stadium tonight wearing Harris merch. It would be far from the wildest outfit she’s worn this season.
