David Beckham was hilariously ribbed by son Romeo shortly after posting a video of him in the gym. The ex-Manchester United ace shared a recent morning workout to his 88.4million Instagram followers. The clip, accompanied by Oasis’ hit song Supersonic, began with Beckham taking off his t-shirt before diving into a topless home gym session.

The former England skipper can be seen putting himself through his paces with a range of exercises such as dumbbell chest press, lower abdominal work and a sequence of battle rope intervals. The segment ends with the ripped 49-year-old looking visibly tired before heading outside for some fresh air.

Beckham posted the video alongside the caption: “No better way to start the day”, however it was son Romeo’s comment that caught the attention. He wrote: “Is that all your lifting?” (sic) in a cheeky public dig at his dad. Followers appeared to like the father/son banter on show with Romeo clearly feeling brave enough to fire shots at his superstar dad.

Beckham's Career and Fitness

Beckham has carried his fitness routine into retirement having packed up playing in 2013 in a teary farewell at Paris Saint-Germain. His career also took in Real Madrid, Milan and LA Galaxy as well as 115 England caps. His son, meanwhile, appeared to be following in his old man's footsteps and the 22-year-old made headlines earlier this month when he confirmed his exit from Brentford having joined the club’s ‘B’ team in 2023.

Rather than seek out another club, Beckham Jr opted for a career change by joining a top Paris fashion agency. It’s not the first time Romeo has changed career. He took a break from football to pursue tennis before returning to the sport in 2021 with Inter Miami. He made 26 appearances for Inter Miami II, netting twice and registering ten assists before making the switch to Brentford.

Beckham's MLS Ambitions

Meanwhile, Inter Miami president Beckham is gearing up for what could be a history-making season at the Florida franchise. Spearheaded by Lionel Messi, the team sit top of the MLS standings with just four games remaining of the regular season. Miami are favourites to land this year’s MLS Cup in what has been an incredible turnaround from 12 months ago. Beckham orchestrated Messi’s arrival and that opened the door for the Argentine’s ex-Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez to join the club. The quartet have been key to turning round Miami’s fortunes and Beckham is hoping his side can claim a first title just six years after its inception and four years after entering the league.

Beckham's Ripped Physique

David Beckham flaunted his hunky physique as he stripped off for a shirtless gym session in his home gym in London while his wife Victoria works in Paris. The former pro footballer, 49, ripped off his white T-shirt before showcasing his gruelling work out in an Instagram video on Thursday. However is middle son Romeo, 22, couldn't resist poking fun at his father's work out routine as he lifted some free weights, asking: 'Is that all you're lifting?'

At the beginning of the clip, David bursts through the door and says to his trainer 'come on Paul, what have you got for me today?' Shirtless David then lies back on a bench to lift some weights, before completing some leg lifts and a session on the battle ropes. The video was shot in the Beckham's gym, which appears to have undergone a moody makeover with green walls and downlighting. At the end of his gym session, David appeared to be blowing for tugs and took a breather on the steps in his garden.

Sharing the video with his fans, David wrote 'No better way to start the day!' In response to Romeo's quip about the amount he was lifting, David wrote back: Where was you all week @romeobeckham #arnie?' As David worked on his physique, his wife Victoria has been in Paris working on her upcoming fashion week presentation. Their son Romeo has also been in the French capital soaking up the fashion week parties and events.

Romeo's Fashion Career

It comes just weeks after Romeo has reportedly left his Premier League football club Brentford FC to focus on a career in fashion - following in his mother's footsteps. Romeo landed in Paris with Victoria just days after his trip to Miami with dad David, 49, to watch Inter Miami take on New York City.  The Brentford FC footballer has reportedly decided to pursue a completely new career. According to The Sun, the midfielder was offered a new contract by Brentford FC in June to stay on with their B team. But it appears Romeo is hoping to follow in his mother's footsteps as he signed with top Paris fashion agency Safe Management.

Romeo is no stranger to the fashion world, having starred in a Burberry campaign when he was just two years old. He also regularly shows off his incredible sense of style at A-list events. A source said: 'Romeo has decided to hang up his football boots and devote his time to his fashion career.' 'He has loved his time at Brentford but needs to focus his attention on fashion, which is where his passion lies.' 'Romeo has recently signed with a top fashion agent in Paris and has his sights set on working with some massive brands.'  MailOnline previously contacted representatives of Romeo Beckham for comment.

Romeo's Football Journey

A promising prospect in his youth, Romeo drifted away from football after being released by Arsenal in 2015 and turned his attention towards a tennis career. However, Romeo announced he intended a return to football in 2020 before joining dad David's MLS franchise Inter Miami the following year. Romeo would go on to make 26 appearances for the club's reserve side, netting twice and notching 10 assists in the MLS Next Pro league during his final season in the USA before he joined Brentford B on loan in January 2023.  Retirement and age hasn’t affected David Beckham’s good looks or physique at all.

The 49-year-old former English soccer star, current president and co-owner of MLS team Inter Miami FC, and recent Emmy award winner for Netflix’s hit documentary Beckham went to Instagram to show that age is just a number during his morning workout. So much for a dad bod, huh? He’s definitely hitting his core hard, and the battle ropes are draining even for the most fit athletes. Well done, Sir Beckham.

David and wife Victoria Beckham have four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. The Beckhams just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in July. What’s the secret to their relationship success? Well, still looking amazing with workouts like these certainly doesn’t hurt. Recently, the family celebrated son Romeo’s 22nd brithday in Las Vegas and the Beckhams shared some sweet family photos. Brooklyn is now 25, Cruz is 19, and Harper is 13. How fast time flies. Beckham retired back in 2013 at the age of 38 after winning a title with Paris Saint Germain, ending a 21-year-soccer career. The midfielder was also a staple of England’s national team. Despite his age, Beckham, who turns 50 on May 2, looks like he could still play.
